Anyone remember golf show called "Big Break" ?

Its still going on only it's on the golf channel which we don't get anymore. They have had quite a few of them around the world. I seem to remember one in Scotland someone Called Warren ? won it. Or I could have been dreaming.

Could have been Warren Bladon - A bit of a cult hero in my mind. Never met him though, but I understand that he won the British Amateur in 96 and nicked a fiver off of Nicklaus at Augusta. Then gave the game a miss for a while and the BB was a sort of comeback.

Also on that show was Marty Wilde JNR (Marty's son and Kim's brother I think).

The interaction between them all was priceless. The best BB IMO.

EDIT: When I say he 'nicked a fiver off of Nicklaus' I mean that they played for it in practice. NOOOO! He didnt..............

Dunno about other players but James Nitties was on the US one a few years back. He turned out to have a pretty handy rookie season on the US PGA tour before dropping back to the nationwide tour.

Tommy 2 Gloves lost in the semi finals at St Andrews.

Matt Every on Tour, was the first person kicked off the show when he was on it. A Right cocky wee fella he was, enjoyed watching him walked down the fairway.

This was my favourite also - US v Europe. Ryder cup format.

The Dutch guy was the best player by a mile but had a stinker the day he got knocked out.

But then won a later "reunion" show.

I watched all of these shows on the website a while ago and remember being shocked when TG went out as I knew he won a BB.

I seem to remember in the semi-final he lost in, he got into a playoff after getting up and down on 18 after thinning his pitch through the green, out of bounds, and bouncing back in play off a van parked on the road!!

Yeah, I mentioned that on another thread. lucky man that day.

Wasnt aware he won another one, there were a few I havent watched. Will check that out, cheers.

I think my favourite out of all the shows was the Biker guy Kevin known as "the eliminator" in the Mesquite season. Played crap in every show, but they couldnt get rid of him.

A-Rod and Rudi Guiliani's son made me want to punch the screen :)

Didn't really like them when I saw them on the defunct Golf Channel. The eliminator tests seems pointless and some of the challenges didn't reflect proper golf or golf shots. Like Big Brother full of too many wannabees and weirdos

I really enjoyed the big break europe all those years back and tried to get the series on dvd but it was never available, shame really cos it was entertaining stuff.Didn't Warren Bladon walk in during a practise round at the Masters whilst playing with Arnie and Jack cos he was tired?
