Ive noticed lately that i get a pain in the hip on my right side towards the end of a round and after hitting balls. Also feel it in my right buttock .

anyone else get this?

not from walking its just after playing or hitting balls.

Didn't realise you were as old as me!

Yes, and it usually comes on after 12-ish holes. When it's really bad I struggle to get onto my front foot.

Im left hand side its worse when I'm tired ,i put it down to my left compensating for my right side which i have a lot of muscle wastage due to a spinal problem,

I have really tight hips, and struggle a wee bit, tend to do stretching when I get up and before I play, there are some really good yoga positions that help. I find now that it's after the round that a struggle a bit if I don't stretch out.

Tend to get the odd pain and the hip definitely feels very stiff on the right sideafter hitting balls at the range these days. Assumed I was just getting old. I tend to get sciatica more than any serious hip pain and have to be very careful to stretch and warm up well. Touch wood been OK for the last six months or so

I struggle with sciatica at times and try to take a couple of pain killers an hour or so before playing then another couple after about 6 holes to try and take the edge of it.

There are various Yoga type stretches and holds that you can do which seem to be very good at alleviating the sciatica pain.

I get this as well, not sure exactly what causes it but it is made worse by driving as well:confused:

You will probably find your hamstrings and glutes are tight, they are pulling on the bottom of your back which is restricting your hip rotation. If you google lower back and hamstring stretches and try and do them twice a day you should start to see some improvement quite quickly

Could be piriformis syndrome...
