• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Any snobs at your place.

" I nearly said to her that if you had been holding penises all day you would not want to hold a sandwich".

Am I the only one that is curious about how Mrs T spends her day?

She is a urology nurse. 👍😁

she'd probably freak if she was introduced to 'pea wet'.

When we emigrated from Rochdale to Mansfield about 1970, I remember saying on the first Saturday night we were there " what time does the black pea man come around". Was gutted when I was told they don't eat black peas in Notts.

Edit to say, every Saturday night a guy used to peddle around Rochdale with a great big steaming bowl of mushy black peas in the front of his bike. They were divine with vinegar.

Not eaten one in years but when we used to do a lot of hill walking they were our staple in the rucksack. Flask of boiling water, mix it up and after a few minutes a perfect hot snack. I recall one Christmas Day walking in the Lakes and we had a special edition Turkey pot noodle for lunch. Walked through a small village and sat in the bus shelter with our Christmas Dinner, happy as two pigs in....I remember hoping no-one took pity on us and invited us to join them!

As to snobs, every golf club has them as does every walk of life. I thought Wellingborough would be snobby as it looks a bit grand but in the main haven't found it to be so.

I'm a chicken and mushroom man myself... great little snack! Not quite as good as chicken super noodles, but close. :)

haha that's so funny!

I remember I've had plenty an argument with the posh snob members at my place! Generally down to - I'm too working class for golf! So I tell them straight every time! I remember when I was a junior - I wasn't wearing a collar (I wasn't aware at the time with being new to golf) they had a go - so I had a go back -saying that its a despicable attitude to have towards junior! 9/10 I win the argument and shut them up! I've done well not to have a red letter haha!

My arguments have reduced dramatically - as I've grew older because they don't look down their noses so much as I'm not a junior anymore!

Pot noodle, yuk!

Super noodles, now you are cooking.

Must be half a snob.

not sure which is worse pot noodle or pot rice .
having tried both pot noodle comes out on top of a bad duo ,and as for flavour it has to be the Bombay bad boy ,it covers all the other tastes in it .

There were plenty of snobs at my last club including a group who wanted to increase the membership costs significantly to make it more exclusive.

As for pot noodles, the original curry one will always be a guilty pleasure.
