Any plans or changes ?

I've been working on the Slicefixer swing for a couple of months now, (take a look at Slicefixer or DFW1500 on youtube) basically a pivot driven swing that utilises the reverse-k setup and recently I have been hitting the ball more consistently and straighter than I can ever remember.

going to actually practice putting this year. couple of sessions a week and keep using the same make and range of ball.

hopefully reduce three stabs from three putt city Arizona.

Wow, what's a reverse k ???

I've had a couple of lessons around Xmas and been too the range once or twice a week. I only hit 50 balls a session as I find the range to be quite boring. Any more then that leaves me struggling to mantain my concentration and focus.

Now that I've had my short game lesson friday afternoons will be spent doing some practice before 18 holes :D

Plans for 2014

Carry on with the lessons I've been having since October - once every three weeks

Practice what I'm taught properly

Practice chipping and putting (a lot)

Continue to concentrate on course management and not just blast away - and get the wife to buy into the idea when we play in mixed competitions

Get fitted for new clubs - probably Ping G25s

Enter lots of opens (Just booked to play a top 100 in the World course for £15)

Book to stay and play at Turnberry with the missus

Hit each shot in isolation and don't worry about the bad ones

Enjoy my golf

Play more comps, play more golf in general in order to try to get my handicap down to single figures ready for H4H. I had intended to wait to buy new clubs, but with my 5 iron breaking I accelerated that purchase and now have some new Mizuno JPX825 pro clubs.

So changes all round for me for this forth coming season.

I am miraculously going to get down to single figures without playing - as that would seem to be the only way I am going to achieve single figures the way things are going. This weekend I have a match on Saturday. If the course is open and we play it will be my first golf for exactly two months :( Not great preparation for an assault on SFs.

Play more reciprocals
Play more Opens

Pretty radical regime for me.........

I'm gonna play Golf....…

That would be pretty much my plans too
2013 was the year of the least golf ever played in 1 year for me
Im hoping to better it this year ( should not be hard )
Try and regain my interest
Lots of off course changes partly to blame, but gonna try harder to get out more

Handicap wise........dont care, really.......

I am going to try and play as many competitions as possible, and during those competitions only think about the next shot. Through the winter I have been playing stableford competitions and realising that with my handicap a bogey, or even a double is not a disaster. So if that means chipping out to give me a third shot on to the green, two putts would still be a net par. No need to try and play par golf !!!

Aye, that's much the same as me. Get too concerned with seeing pars on the scorecard, whereas I should be more concerned with keeping anything worse than bogey to an absolute minimum.

Play for bogey and the opportunities for pars will come along. All about capitalising when they do!

That said, my change for this year is to actually play LESS golf, and actually practise instead. As much as I love going out and playing golf, having membership and feeling like i had to play each week began feeling like a chore. So now I look forward to each round, and have played much steadier as a result. Just need to increase the practise, no doubt about that.

Wow, what's a reverse k ???

It's what you should aim for at address, because should have a spine tilt forwards towards the ball/target line plus a slight spine tilt away from target too, (your left hand is higher on the club than your right hand) so you don't want shoulders, hips level at address.

This places your left side (RH golfer) slightly higher than you right side, left shoulder higher than right, left hip slightly higher than right, means you can turn and pivot upper body and keep your spine angles plus turn your hip properly into you right hip socket.
Have a look at this.

end of last year i got some lessons, and have seen a huge difference, off the tee im confident, long irons ok, short game is a bit better but putting needs to improve, so thats this years goal, more lessosn on putting, also not getting hung up on handicap, im not regularly shooting in the 80's which ive never done before, so far looking good!

I'm going to concentrate on my short game and start to take the game seriously (I've already started). It wasn't long ago I wanted to get to 18. I'm now intrigued to see how low I can go.
Mission to get to 8 by the end of the season. Gonna be difficult as I've got 2 kids under 2 and can only play about once a week. I will also get to the range and practice the 6 foot putts as often as I can.

Looking forward to the new season. Play three holes at a time. One over, one under for that three then start again for the next three. Make a full shoulder turn. And practice my up and downs. Can't move on till I get three balls down in two just of the green. Getting exited thinking about golf and the sunny weather. The first person to complain that its to hot will get a frown from me. S and A Tues never been so lookin forward to that. When its good I love golf!
