I don't have a problem with stray shots. We all do it. I don't have a problem with no shout . If there is a chance I may turn into the balls path. What I do have a problem with, is no apologies or explanations.

I shout fore even I believe the ball will land even somewhere that could distract another player on the course, even if it's going to be well short.
I always shout, and its LOUD!
you HAVE to warn fragile people theres a ROCK MISSILE heading towards them at 150miles per hour, c'mon theres NO reason not to!
If I hear a 'FORE!', turn away from the direction of the shout, make yourself smaller and cover your head.

Jus wondering has anyone hit someone? Closest I been is there bag which they left behind after I shouted and they moved.
I always shout as makes me less sueable if I hit someone lol. I always take note if I hear a shout but you know its close and serious if you hear a couple shouts especially the 2nd one being more panicked.

Something quite funny happened, I had an 8 iron into a green and the next tee box was to my right of the green. Anyway, as I hit I could see it was pushed right, so I shouted fore...loudly. The 3 guys waiting to tee off, heard the shout and saw the ball, so were ready for it. It landed just short of them and was rolling, but quite slowly, so the guy tries to first move left to avoid it, changes his mind then moves right and eventually just stumbles and falls over and the ball stops before it even gets to him. His playing partners and myself included, were just p1ssing themselves. All good natured

I did at the GM Beau Desert meet.
I felt awful.Downhill par 3 with the next tee box about 25yds left of the green and I hit a big pull. They all ducked when I shouted and it hit the guy at the top of his backside as he was bent over with his hands protecting his head.

I always shout. Just the way I was brought up I guess. If I hear a shout I'll cover my face and head as best I can. Not much else you can do in the time

My dad has kneecapped someone and hit a kid on the head on a par 3 course. Both times we shouted fore and both times the walked into the balls flight!!!
I was playing at silverstone when a group of 4 lads let my dad , my mate and I through. They had already tee'd off and let us through after our drives.
Theres a tree which is in direct line to the green if you lay up short of the pond on the right and I whacked a 5 iron sweet as you like but hit the tree which then directed the ball into one of the lads arms.
I ran over to him apologising and he said it was alright dont worry. We looked at his arm and it looked like he'd been paintballing with frozen chickens the mark was so big.
Saw him in the clubhouse after and offered him a drink but he wasnt hanging around. By now his whole upper arms was purple!
Made me feel a bit sick because a few inches higher on his head, who knows what might have happened.
