American Golf's swing simulator

Hello all When i have used American golfs simulator i always bring my old clubs im testing, So even if the stats are beefed up Both clubs stats will be beefed up so at least i know myself if the club i want to buy is giving me the extra yards

I was measured once at a free ball testing session at a local club at 115mph swing speed with the driver. I don't know if that was accurate or not or if swing changes since has reduced my SS but I do get on well with the Fujikura REAX stiff shaft in my TM burner. This year has been my best so far for driving, says a lot for TM when I keep a Titleist D2 910 at home and prefer to use a 2007 burner.

Id say thats x flex. During my fitting at TM at wentworth , my swing speed was the same (slightly less on average) and I got fitted for x-stiff.

Shame about all the hate for AG on here. I appreciate its down to personal experiences but my two local stores (AG near the Trafford Centre and AG at Drivetime in Warrington) are really good. The guys there are top notch and know there stuff. Also, there is always a pga pro on hand to help.

110-116mph swing speed is pretty fast, and may well need X flex. Of course X flex Aries between shaft makes and there are other considerations. I would therefore join the group saying you should go to a specialist fitter. If you fancy a 913 then it might be worth a run up to Titleist at St Ives. You will have a much better choice of shafts there.

I wouldn't say the swing speed will be inflated, the distance it says you hit the ball may be, they will set the conditions to be optimal of course...

I would say you are borderline and it will depend on the shafts I would say.. Don't buy anything without trying it if you are spending 300 large on a driver! If they want your business, they will get you one in to TRY! U don't have to buy it!

Again I say buy from a local pro where you can take out a demo club to try , American golf has given you the spec so go to your local pro and try a demo of the same spec ........................EYG

Do you really want to know???? Beefed up. Get out to a club pro or a decent range and hit some on a range so you can see the whole ball flight and get on something like a trackman. I wouldn't trust AG to fit me for a tee let alone an expensive driver

Bit harsh seeing as GM were giving us forummers some great fitting opportunitys last year through AG.
In fact I was very happy thx

However you will spend hundreds of pounds on a pro and never seem to improve.

Sorry Homer but you have really rattled my cage with your last remark.

You got yourself fully tested and fitted recently, and because your new bats havnt improved
your game at all, your now trying out your old bats again.
So you wont trust AG to fit you for tees, but also you wont trust someone who you spent
over a grand with.
However you will trust your pro who you have spent 1000s of pound on,and have not improved
your handicap at all.:confused::confused:
You really know what your talking about.
Rant probably not over:rant:

I definitely agree with this. Using a simulator is fine but you can beat seeing the actually ball flight on a proper range.
No way would I be spending the best part of £300 on a club just because a computer says it's going long & straight.

Most days a good track man isn't too far from true flight - the only thing that is missing is obvious natural elements.

Pro.s use a lot of simulator for club testing and practise.

So whilst outside is good - an indoor simulator isn't bad.

Just have to trust the person - and AG have had it up their game in recent years.

Your probably right mate,I'd just rather see it with my own eyes.

Tbf to Homer he's not alone in thinking this. AG do get quite a bit of stick when it comes to custom fit. Can't really comment myself as I've never witnessed it.

AG used to have a poor rep but it's certainly improving as the years go by. Same with Direct Golf.

Some pros can be just as bad as AG.

that pro fitter that people seem to really rate on here uses an indoor trackman and he is rated uber high with all that have been there I believe.
I've forgotten his name but one of his faithful followers will no doubt remember, he's from Edinburgh direction I think.
