Am I glad that it is lashing down with rain?

Still shedloads up here. Passed Berkshire, Windlesham and Silveremere on the way to my mums and all won't see any golf anytime soon. Not sure the rain is coming anytime before Thursday and there was talk of another light covering of snow tomorrow
 
Had a inch or so this morning but it's thawing quite quick and the temprature is rising so fingers crossed. Just hope the little bit of snow/sleet that is forecast for tomorrow ends up turning to rain.
 
don't you think we should let the water drain off the courses and give it another week before we all start hammering them with our size 11s?
Bet we all complain in the spring when the fairways and aprons are a bit dodgy ;)
 
We've had a bit of rain today and its great to see the snow turning to slush. A couple of weeks and we'll be good to go i reckon.
 
A lot of the snow has melted today, and we're forecast temps above freezing for a few days now including 6 ish Weds and Thurs so fingers crossed I'll be able to use the tee time I've booked myself for Thursday.

We're forecast more snow tonight, but the temp outside now is around +3 so I don't think it'll stay long.
 
Update! no rain, overcast and snow is gone.. wonder if the wind can build a bt and dry the place out for Saturday??
Or is that being a little selfish?
 
8* yes a shockingly hot 8* and I can't find my shorts! Typical!!!!

Slight rain last night and today, but a big plus is our course is OPEN! Playing Thursday for my first game since our November medal
 
Pro reckons the course will be open tomorrow. No doubt temps but who cares, can't wait for that first beer in the clubhouse, oh and the golf as well. ;)

As far as I'm aware yes, although I've stayed at the girlfriends for past two days do not sure how things are on the home courses side. They must be getting better, when i git to hers boxing day the park opposite was under 2 inches, today it's almost clear, so given the weather is forecasted 8* for next 3 days including today it should be clear although very soggy
 
Well i was hoping to play Rockliffe Hall on thursday but just rang them and they reckon it's going to be friday at the earliest! Thought it would have been quicker than that as it's been thawing since yesterday, ment to be around 4* tomorrow and there aint much snow left.

Looks like i may have to wait till either sunday or monday for a game.
 
Went to the club today. Course is still closed as a few of the holes (1st and 2nd in particular) are still covered as they are in the shade. The good news (for me at least) is the practice ground is clear so heading down there. I'm off all week so will keep a close eye on the club website and be out as soon as its open
 
We had very light drizzle all day so still looks like a while before I'll be out the house

Drizzling on and off in Newcastle snow starting to melt...hoping to play on Thursday with the slow thaw predicted.
