Hello

Am a total ignoramus about golf sorry but my husband would like a rangefinder (but not a watch type one) and winter golf gloves please - please can someone make some recommendations so I don't randomly order rubbish online?

Thanks

I dont have any experience of winter gloves I'm afraid but I do use a rangefinder.

I use the nikon coolshot 20 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nikon-16200-Coolshot-20/dp/B00SMX7FUU

A bit cheaper than the bushnell v3 but just as good from my experience, I rate it highly.

If budget is no issue though then I would go for the Bushnell v4 Slope edition but it is expensive.. - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bushnell-Tour-Laser-Rangefinder-Slope/dp/B01BM5KN58

Another coolshot 20 owner. Great bit of kit.

Galvin green winter playing gloves.

Super warm and great to play in.

Feel too thick at first but once used to them they are essential!

I've had one pair for years now, wouldn't be without!

Got bought a pair of the under armour cold gear golf gloves last year for Christmas and they are pretty useless if I'm truthful.

Offer no more warmth than a normal golf glove really, might try the galvin green ones instead.

I bought a suaoki range finder off Amazon £89 for standard £99 for one with a sceeen on the side

works brilliant at a fraction of the cost of a bushnall etc

I have a Bushnell Tour V3! Its work great it a load of weather conditions, buzzes when you get the flag and its very accurate with its yardage! its brilliant!!

Be careful you when buy one though - because some of the rangefinders have a "slope" option. This cannot be used during competition so ensure this can be switched off or removed!!

I would recommend going to his local pro shop for advice!

Also I use a footjoy glove for the winter. But you can also get paired golf gloves when you don't need to take them off!
If he's not interested in them and just wants winter gloves get some that are easily removable! Callaway and titleist do nice ones!

Just in case we've got wires crossed: When you say rangefinder most of us think of a laser type where you aim at the flag (or whatever), press a button and it tells you how far to the thing you're pointing at.

You say you don't want a watch type that makes me think you're looking for a GPS based unit that gives you distances on a LCD screen.

Do you know which type you're looking for?

Skycaddie TOUCH would be the best distance measuring device if you wanted a handheld one which shows all the hazards etc.

I use a Garmin GPS, so can't give anything on the rangefinder front.

As for winter gloves, I was given a pair (birthday pressie) by Under Armour which seem pretty good to me.
