I have tried & failed badly to get a low lofted iron as an option off the tee, I was desperately seeking a Wilson FG Tour V4 2i but cant get one easily & I refuse to pay full price for an experiment. I have seen a few good reviews of the Adams as an alternative, any one used one, if so what were your thoughts off the tee ? also how easy to hit off the deck?

Anyone got one they have fallen out with they are looking to move on?

If it's the black headed driving iron..??....then I don't think they went as low as 16 degrees.
Think they start at 18 degrees
Quite a powerful club anyway , so that would be low enough (loft) I'd say

A mate of mine uses a 16 deg Cleveland Mashie, he hits it miles. Uses it as he doesn't like 3 woods.

he is a very fine ball striker and off 0

Ive seen a few of them about, Tain had a couple in its sale bin a few weeks ago

Don't know if others find this but mine doesn't launch anywhere near as low as I was expecting from it, I have the 18* one and hit it quite high

Pat, I have the 2i version and find it hard to keep low. Excellent clubs though with great shafts. Also find when its being naughty it likes to hook quite I'm struggling with. For years it has been my goto club but as swing develops I now struggle.

I would imagine any hybrid with a graphite shaft is going to get the ball higher than an Iron.

if its low you want have a look out for a Mizuno MP37 2 iron with s400 shaft.

this was a low launching club and its what I'm using off the tee at the moment.. prob only gets 50-60 feet off the ground only carries about 190 but rolls another 30 or 40 at least

Yeah mines is the same, launches higher than expected. Although I did hit a lovely low bullet with it the other day all the way out to about 230, don't know how I did it.

It is a great club overall, very useful off the tee, not one that I have used from the deck much but it is doable just hit it like an iron.

I was looking at the a driving iron type club with a bit of help for a 18 hcp player, looked and was fitted for the Ping Crossover, which was Ok but a lot of money. So I have been looking for Adams DHY Pro and picked up 18* with UST Recoil 460 Shaft F3 which is regular for £38, which I am loving at the moment whilst in its honeymoon period, I am sure I have seen these at 16*

I only just last week sold my Adams Pro DHY 18 degree club.

I have never got on with hybrids at all so I thought this would be a happy medium and tbh I hated it, it was the only club in the bag I would just not hit at all towards the end of its reign even if the shot called for it.

I play links golf and was finding the ball flight way to high for a 18 degree club ( I could keep my 3 iron lower ). I tried to lower the flight with a shaft change to a Aldila rouge but it still sent the ball miles high and a tad too spiny for my tastes so I was not getting the desired distance. Had no issues hitting it off the deck but again the launch was too high.

I also didn't like the feel off the face as well the feedback was not what I was expected but to be fair having never owned a club of this nature I didn't know what to expect. It was just a bit dull which is the only word i can think off.

I have since bought a Mizuno MP-H5 2 iron as it fits into my set mp54/mp4 combo and its a joy to behold and everything I want in this type of club. I didn't get this originally due to price and timing really but regretting I didn't.

Took me a while to get there trying lots of alternatives so just take my opinion as one of many.
