Accommodation in St Andrews

Going up in November to play both the Old and the New, so a 2 night, 3 day break. Got a great rate at the Rusacks through Booking.com!

Any recommendations for pubs/bars/food will be very welcome!!

Chaps, the issue is Louise needs accom for the week of the Eden/Strathtyrum competitions and the town is going to be rammed, 360 golfers playing that week before you include all the normal August traffic on the Old course/Kingsbarns etc

Seeing as I'm the only local on here ,your better staying in the premier inn Dundee which is right on the waterfront and 15 mins to St Andrews Louise, Pie Man loads of great pubs, One Golf Place , Dunvegan Hotel, Greyfriars, Central Bar, The Criterion, The Rule, Westport Bar are all good pubs. Food wise Indian its Maisha cracking food just down an Alley from The central bar, Adamsons, Forgan, and some good Italians as well. Hope this helps

The Vines is great, probably need to book in advance, and also you have the best Scottish fish and chip restaurant in town, Cromars. The restaurant behind the 18th green and R & A building is really good as well. On the corner of the road, and you step down into it. Looks like just a bar, with big tv screens, but there is a decent medieval style restaurant as well.

Going in October and can't wait.

Thats the old Hamilton Halls which was owned by the Uni until Herb Kohler bought it and turned it in to luxury flats, The Tailend is the best chippy just along from Tescos:thup:. When in October are you coming up Rich ?

I stay in Dundee at the central Travelodge when going to the Dunhill Links for the last few years. Only about 20 min drive and is a couple mins walk into Dundee for food/pubs. Usually quite cheap too for the stay.

Think that is One Golf Place. Had a nice meal there myself last time I was in St Andrewshttp://www.thegolfinn.co.uk/

Tailend get my vote as best chipper in St Andrews too - another cracking place is 'The Steak Barn' http://www.balgove.com/pages/steak-barn pretty much across the road from the Balgove course and the St Andrews Golf Academy - enjoy yourself Louise - you're lucky enough to be visiting the best golfing town on the planet.

I was going to make an offer on the penthouse apartment, but just couldn't find the ten million.

Come up on Sunday 16th, and playing Monday to Thursday. Old, Jubilee, Castle and Lundin Links. We are two three balls so if you fancy joining us Steve you are very welcome.

Well l I did some searching and looking at reviews and have booked at the Glendarran guest house, £55 b&b and just off The Scores, 5 minutes walk form the Old Course.

We will have to meet up from a drink Drive4show!
