Accenture Matchplay

Some shocking results - for my fantasy league team anyway!!

Poulter, Garcia, Donald... maybe if I email them and promise not to put them in my team next week they will send me a trunk full of cash?

knew I should have left Luke out my Fantasy league.

You're correct in saying now that Luke is out in rnd1 if McIlroy wins he will be the new #1, good incentive for him

Carnage in my fantasy team......... 4 players left after the 1st round, and two of those are playing each other today. I guess I can guarantee 1 player in the next round then......

Managed to keep 5.
Didn't pick Luke last year as he hadn't played well.
Shouldn't have picked him this year as he hasn't played well.......

Lost 6 in the first round, was going to lose a couple anyway as the draw put a couple of mine together

4 left, Rory, Westy, Schwartzel & Kaymer

Come on guys, Fragger needs you

Guess that means I'm going to beat you again - I have those 4 + Pete Hansen......

PH to win!!:clap::clap:

Gutted - am in Brussels for work so didn't get to see any of the coverage!! Did Ernie rediscover some of his old matchplay magic, or was Luke really poor? From what I have read, seems a mixed bag from the Brits / Europeans. Anyone else think that, if Poulter's poor form continues this year, then he'll do well to be a Captain's pick for the Ryder Cup irrespective of how good he was last time out?

Luke (from what little we saw) was awful. He said during his post-round interview that he was frustrated as he put in so much hard work during the off-season and then could not control the ball at all yesterday.

That's not to say big Easy didn't play well, but it should have been a lot closer than it was.

It's still early, but Poulter seems all out of sorts already. Hopefully he finds some form.

Donald had 5 bogies (compared to Westwood who had 6 bridies and no bogies) whilst Els played solid and starting holing putts on the back 9

Managed to get 7 through, lost Donald, Poulter and Dyson

There wasn't much of Luke shown at all but when they did cut to him he was in trouble. He really looked like he was having a mare. Woods was fortunate that his opponent didn't seem able to close the game out as I don't think he played great. Mr Gobby (Bradley) look quite impressive. Westwood or McIlroy will be #1 if they win. Don't mind either getting there to be honest

Cheers for that - should be home by 9.30 tonight so hoping to catch some of the coverage later. Let's hope Luke is getting all his rubbish play out of the way prior to the Masters!

Think Dustin Johnson will win his quarter, then McIlroy and Watney. Not sure about the Ben Hogan quarter, very close to call.
Going for Johnson to win it because once you've survived a scare like he did against Furyk it will loosen him up and play his bombing drives.
Did see how Manassero played but must have been played well to win 3 and 2!

I said in January I felt Luke might suffer as he's changed his winning MP62's which he was at one with for the much hyped MP59's, they are nice but even I thought they were 'artificial' in their feedback. It's not all the club but if it's even slightly on his mind then at that level there is a very fine line between success and failure.

I hope he gets back in the groove soon.

I lost 5 yesterday and expect to lose 3 today. Wish the USA coverage was better, I don't think the American Director really 'gets' Matchplay
