We have had a fair bit of damage to tees and greens lately by bikes.

We have been told now to call 999 if we see any one on bikes on the course.

I can’t bring myself to call 999 to report a kid on a bike seems OTT.
Apparently we have a dedicated line to the local Police.

Is this a thing I thought 999 was for emergencies only?

The police actually have officers out on motorbikes & operating drones trying to catch people on dirt bikes.
If you’ve been told to do it,do it.
It’s up to them how urgently they respond.

Yes but it goes against everything I have been taught over the years.

People calling 999 over a lost remote control.?😳

These kids need the shock of an arrest, might help them in the long run.
Besides, they are causing criminal damage, their age shouldn’t matter.

As a lifetime motorcyclist, I am continually appalled at the mindless damage young louts do to golf courses, cricket pitches, football pitches, and playgrounds.
I would definitely phone 999. If I could stop one, I would, side cutters in hand, cut straight through the throttle cable of the miscreant, just to see the look on his or her face. It will be almost certainly a stolen bike.
I hope no one allies these folk to genuine motorcyclists.

Not sure anyone with a degree of common sense would do that. Just mindless feral kids with no sense of fear of retribution even if they are caught. Punishment rarely fits the crime

I remember around where I live, we suddenly had a spate of drug dealers. They weren't subtle, so I started reporting them to the police, along with accompanying photos and videos. Eventually, the police came around to my house and told me to call 999 the next time I saw it happening.

I did just that about a week later, and I was then told by the 999 operator that it wasn't an emergency, so I should hang up and call 101

Think it’s more electric bikes than motorbikes.

The course has a public path right through it.
It’s totally fenced off but they come through the gates .
Impossible to stop it.
