for those wanting KP dropped, could you name the 6 batters you are picking ahead of him please

Thats the problem - i dont want him dropped - i want him to change his attitude when batting

Its not like that at all - cricket is a better game.

How many innings of note did KP have - how many times did he dig in and get an innings together to help the team out ?

How many times did he get out going for a shot ? - pretty much every time - he is selfish - it works in a team doing well because players around him contribute and give him a platform and he can go for his shots but he is a number 4 - when the top 3 go tumbling you want him to get stuck in and play the paitent innings building an innings not trying to out do the bowler in some personal battle.

I get your point about him getting out but I disagree entirely with your reasoning for thinking he should go. He can't change the player he is.

Guess who had England's second highest average, after Stokes, in this Ashes?

I never actually said i wanted him gone

And the last bit isnt exactly something to shout out loud when none of his innings actually meant anything

An average of 30 does not make you the best player... And for a start it's only one batsman you need to name not 6....And are u saying he is only good enough for batting at 7

Personaly he should be no where near any England side

No Im saying he is by a country mile in the best 6 batsmen available to England and without doubt should be on the team sheet imo. If you wouldnt have him anywhere near the side what top 6 are you picking (that hes not good enough to get in)? (I really dont get why you only need 1 batter better than him?)

Because you are only looking to replace 1 batsman... He is not an opener so you are not replacing them (for him). You ate replacing middle order for middle order. Nothing else. Hence only one person needed.

As for him being a batsman a MIDDLE order batsman has many roles. Score quick... Take your time... Get in play sensible build an innings then speed up... Or DIG in and STOP a collapse.

Certain words have been highlighted for easy reference. IF he was a true middle order batsman and a decent one he would play for the team

Answer the question, whats your top 6 without him? (mine would be Cook, Compton, Bell, KP, Root, Stokes fwiw)

Like I have said you are only replacing one... And like for like give James Taylor another shot.... Out with the old and in with the new (ish) Fwiw I have no issuewith your other selection

Taylors an odd one, some days looks like he could be top class and other days wouldnt look out of place in club cricket. Think he needs runs for notts to get another look in, ultimately asnyone who gets a stack in the first 6 weeks of the season should get a crack this year

If KP is as good as all the hype, he should be capable of batting to a strategy, which he doesn't seem to be able to do. He is one dimensional, thrash it and see what happens. If he tries to play a strategic game, he gets bored, and reverts to form. When on form, he is unplayable. When he isn't, he is dire. I'm not sure about picking him, but then I know naff all about cricket.

Kevin is a great batsman. He has 8100 odd test runs at an average of 47. Stacks up well over 104 tests.

Whether or not he continues is apparently down to the selectors overruling Flower who wants him out.

KP's biggest issue is he massive ego.... its been said before and he's desperate to be one of "greats" but at the moment hes just seen as a great pain in the arse. Hes a massive talent and I like him but bloody hell he can be so frustrating sometimes when all he seems to be thinking about is a personal agenda and this shows in his shot selection.
I strongly believe there are major issues in the changing room and KP is no doubt involved in this. Swans early exit whilst appalling was an insight into the lack of team togetherness. I dont see Cook as a leader at all Im afraid. Hes a quality player but not a Captain in my eyes. Even when we won last year he looked a little weak in front of all those characters. In sport the best player doesnt always mean the best Captain.....
