There was a 4BBB at our place today and whilst speaking to the organiser he explained that some people did to know how to mark cards as some groups had all the scores in the column for A rather than whoever has scored. He was having none of it and said they took the scores to from player A to count.

Surely they have signed for a wrong card. The did not we the Comp.

common problem.....

1. the marker puts it there
2. the organiser doesn't provide the player with a card to record 2 x marker scores so that they can check anything, and if they atart to use the 'spare columns' it provides a total mess on the card.........

common problem - no surprise

Think the problem is with the ipad and filling in and me not checking.

However please clarify that they should have been disqualified.

Many thanks

sorry, didn't realise it was a question.

strictly by the rules - possibly not, one of those where you would have to look at what was returned. From what you have posted a correct gross score was entered against each hole but the issue was with the committee having to do some work to establish who's it was. the relevant rule is 31-3 which requires that the score entered can be identified - but makes no specification as to how this is done. eg for a team of a SCr and an 18 handicapper playing full handicap allowance (ignore relevance) and with stableford points also shown, the score can be identified.

on balance, probably...
