Hi all

Played a medal yesterday for the first time in a very very very long time. Played quite well despite being 3 off the tee on the first and 3 off the tee on the last......I came 3rd by 1 shot.

Anyway, the point of this post is that I played 2 under my handicap but didn't get a cut.....can you educate me on why not?

Handicap is 15
Par is 70
CSS is 68
I shot an 83

So 83-15 = 68. So I matched the CSS. I'm assuming that's why I didn't get a cut?

cheers all.....I've relived my last drive in my head and cant workout how I hooked it so badly. Oh well, nice to put a decent score together.

I once won a midweek comp on count back. I took the money and the second place guy took the hcap reduction whilst I had none. Gutted.

How did you end up 3 off the tee on the first? It's a very inviting drive! The only way I can imagine is if you stray too near the driving range, identifying which is yours might be tricky!

I had it on the flip side that I shot a 76/68 at an open at Roya lStDavids yesterday and so -1 for me. CSS for away players ended up being 72 so I have got a 0.8 cut.

It was on the Princes course.... the OOB down the left is like a magnet to me, which is weird as a hook isn't normally my bad shot.

It's a magnet to many people!

BTW the men's CSS was 67 for that competition (68 for the ladies) - but you were still in buffer of course.

I'm trying to think of a scenario where this is possible but I'm not sure there is. Happy to be corrected if there is.

I think he had shot something like a nine and an eight on two par fours which were rounded down.
Ironically the exact same happened in div 2 on the same day.

Ah ha! That makes sense.

I like the Princes course, I'm trying to persuade a friend to head over there with me this afternoon, he hasn't played for a year so a good set of 9 holes to get back into things. Sufficiently challenging, not overly long but a pretty place to spend tme.

that must have been some hook off the last Adam ,the ninth is pretty open as it only has a strip of rough between it and the eighth hole .mind you it is pretty thick in places.
good knock though mate .

Thanks.....yeah I essentially I hooked it just past the 8th green. Not normally a shot I pull out of the bag.....but I had to end in a blaze of glory.
