Well done mate, the ORKAS still waiting on the bench!!
Cheers all....result now in and CSS didn't move so a 0.6 cut to 5.3. ... hello CAT 1.....gonna try and hold on to you a bit longer this time...
Howdidido has me down as 5.4 but there's a competition the club have to undo as they made an error declaring ALL bunkers as GUR last Wednesday, which they can't do and still count it for handicapping..![]()

OK.....I should be ecstatic as its 3 better than handicap and could see me back at CAT 1 depending on CSS but left some silly ones out there........
in reality I should have had my first sub par round......
front 9 1 over gross.....no real mistakes and fairly happy.
back 9 had a horror on 11.....hit the green in regulation but in an area of the green that's been suffering recently and they've made a hash of the repair......it really should have been GUR as it was so uneven.....anyway, it wasn't so I had to putt from it......It was a 20 foot putt....no problem, lag it up to the hole and walk off with my par.......wrong!!....took the putter back and it snagged on a high spot.....my putt went 10 inches!!!!!!!!!, I nearly had an air putt!!! I was seething......
Held it together after that but missed 3 reasonably easy birdie chances......still only 2 over though with only 103 yards to go on the 18th and stuck it in the green side bunker and walked off with a bogey.......
Still, I have to take the positives and I'm really nitpicking......just disappointed about 11 and 18......
if CSS doesn't go down, I'll get a 0.6 cut and back to CAT 1 which will make up for my disappointment.....if CSS goes down, then I'll be rueing those 2 holes........
It's going to be a long night.......
There is a considerable amount of luck in golf. Anyone who says different is wrong. Good days could always be better and they could also be a lot worse. It is the rub of the green combined with your consistency level that gives you the number on the card at the end of the round.
Flipping heck. I probably put in 6 cards a year if I'm lucky. You do that in a month?
The pros don't play that many comps?
May be you need to target orientate a bit more, rather than go for the scatter gun approach?
