Must be something about the month of May.....but yesterday I won my 2nd Midweek Medal, following on from last Mays 1st ever win.
Although took up up golf membership just over 2 years ago only started playing in comps last April.
Have disappointingly only got round to playing in around 10 comps in 14 months, for a combination of reasons. But hoping to get to play in a lot more this season.

There wernt many golfers in yesterdays comp (the seniors have their own comps Tues/Thurs mornings ) in my eyes a stupid decision to switch the Midweek Medal to a Thurs morning to clash with the seniors.Still a win is a win and I played very well OVER 18 HOLES apart from my too often 3 putting.Consistency was the key and nothing worse than a double bogey on any hole.
Although I am highly delighted to pick up my 2nd career win I am more bothered about lowering my handicap.I am off 25 and desperately want to steadily get down to the 22 mark this season.I believe that figure will hold a bit of respectability with the better golfers.

Cheers

Kev

I won two of my first three comps then won nothing for well over a year, had more second places than I can remember, including two in honors board competitions!

I found that winning is really just a factor of who has the best day out there, all I can do is play my best and get at least in the buffer zone. After that its out of my hands and any pro shop vouchers etc are a bonus on top of a good days golf.
