A quostion for the knowledgeable peoples on the the forum. They have just posted today's results from round one of a two day comp and this shows a new hc of 10.3 from 11.1.

The question is. Tomorrow am I playing off the new handicap of 10.3 or the handicap I was when I entered the comp.

Not been in this position before, so thanks in advance for and clarifications

All depends on what the rules are in regards the comp

In our club champs it's two rounds and you can get cut but you play the second round using the handicap you started the first round with.

Normally in a 36he comp you would play off same h/cap round 1 & 2 but the rules of comp can allow changes after day 1 best check in morning or before submitting your card. Well ayes today

Ditto, in all 2-day comps at my place, you stay on the handicap you started with but you will be cut on each occasion if warranted.

Depends on the club. At my old club you played the second round of the CC off of your adjusted handicap from round 1. At RAGC, 2 day comps are played off of the starting h'cap for both rounds.

It's normal to do a two day comp off the same handicap. Handicaps usually change if there is a longer gap between the rounds where a player could play another qualifying round home or away

Cheers guys I'll check with the pro!

The committee are required to make this clear in advance - but can go either way! The actual wording for strokeplay events is as follows

"In a Stroke Play orMatch Play competition played over more than one round, the Committee in charge,
in the Conditions of the Competition, are required to establish whether or not the handicap of a player
at the start of the competition applies throughout the competition.
In framing the conditions of a competition played over more than one round, the following guidelines are
recommended.
. In a competition such as a 36 Hole or 72 Hole competition played in the same day or over a number
of days within a short period of time the handicap of a player applying at the beginning of a
competition shall apply throughout the duration of the competition.
2. In a competition where individual rounds are over an extended period of time and there has been the
opportunity to compete in other unrelated competitions between rounds, a player must play from the
handicap current at the time of entry for each of the individual rounds of the competition."

good luck either way!
