I’m trying to organise a small society outing (12 max) of decent golfers (4-13 handicaps) at a good course in May. I’m looking to spend no more than 60 per head and it needs to be on a Saturday not a million miles from Hampshire. It’s proving to be a tough ask. Suggestions / help would be...
Looking for one thats reasonably new and in good condition, let me know if you have one you are getting rid of.
Alternatively if somebody has a similar new iron under 20 degrees of loft.... I'd be interested.
Cheers!
If you want my 2p's worth... play a round and make a mental note of any time you don't make a bogey. Then explain why, write it down. At the end there should be a clear reason why. How many 3 putts, how many duffed chips, you getting out of every bunker in 1 shot? Lost balls off the tee? How...
Just sounds like you are keen to do well, knowing that you've got a chance to get a good cut has caused you to lose focus. Go back to the "one shot at a time" way of thinking. Tee shot on 10, just put 100% of all of your effort in to making that a good shot and then same with the next shot...
got to love scoresaver...
I average:
5.4 pars per round
0.6 birdies per round
1.3 penalty shots per round
Sounds about right to me. Need to keep doubles off the score card and get the handicap down.
I don't get how you are striking the ball great but often having 3 off the tee? What about walking off par 4's with a 7 or 8... surely you are getting on or around the green in 3 shots and then what? Are you duffing chips and 4 putting?
I'm similar handicap and I know how easy it is to walk off...
Wrong in my book. I see it more insulting to the guys than anything. Slightly sad that we are so dumb that we would pay money to have a pretty girl to look at while we play golf. Surely we've all got a bit more substance than that?

Bubba hammers a drive, the crowd are quiet as they watch it fly and you just hear the guy nearest the camera in an awe filled voice say " good god almighty! "
You'll probably stink the place up and feel like your swing doesn't feel correct and you will be very frustrated and annoyed. Then you'll hit one shot where everything clicks before returning to being dire.
You need to accept that and just enjoy being out on the course, don't be tempted to...
While changing the loft on a G25 driver, I managed to snap the screw in half (secures shaft to club).... apparently ping are saying that I have to send it back in... but all I need is a new screw?!!?!?!?
Does anybody have one that they can sell me ?
HELP!!!!
Cheers.
How good is State of the Game with Geoff Shackelford and Mike Clayton!!!
I love killing work hours with a good podcast so thanks for the recommendation.
So I went back to the range for a quick 60 balls this afternoon and I'm happy to report ZERO shanks!!!! A couple that were very heely but not a shank. I haven't tried to do anything different, no grip change, not moved distance from the ball.... maybe have the ball slightly further forward but...
So firstly I need to thank the coach who sent me a long and detailed mail on things to check and why he thinks I'm shanking. All this while out of the country on business.... The forum is lucky to have committed and generous members. Plus thanks to the rest who have shared their tales of grief...
I'm 2 to 3 weeks in with no sign of daylight at the end of the tunnel..... I'd say at least 400 shanks by now.
Take a look at the vids people and feel free to comment!
