    Low handicappers / Regular shafts

Yes you're correct. I also use the zz65 shaft which, when I was fitted at Gainsborough earlier this year, actually gave me a slightly better ball flight and distance than Pings new AWT stiff shaft. Obvoiusly the varying degrees of stiffness will also make a difference! ACP

    A quick question

Do you mean Whittlebury Park? I played it a few years ago and thought it was very good. A lot of mature oak trees - and good length. There are several courses (I think I played the older 1905 course). I can only recall good memories of it. ACP

    TRACKMAN TESTING.

As I have said in an earlier post of mine (My Day at Ping) I have just had the complete custon fitting experience. Ping, at Gainsborough, use the Trackman system. I've been fitted on the Vector ProLaunch system in the past (my club have recently purchased one) - which I thought was very good /...

    Time to Take Nike Seriously?

Although I don't play Nike (and probably never will)I don't think they can be simply dismissed and not taken seriously. They employ club designers that have worked with the "Big Boys" and who have been responsible for some of the best irons of recent years. I'm sure I saw a programme on this...

    Your Masters Questions Answered

Luke / Neil, Augusta is undoubtedly a beautiful, challenging golf course - and most will argue the greatest / best known course in America. However, I hope that every time this is mentioned by your American media colleagues you politely remind them that it was Scotsman, Dr Alistair Mackenzie...

    GM at The Masters

Neil, Hope you haven't got lost in the fog and wondered in to somewhere you shouldn't be!? How much is the fog going to be an issue for the early starters - looks like there are some people struggling already (Shaun Micheel)? ACP

    GM at The Masters

Neil, I heard on the radio this morning that the Americans are taking the unprecedented move of banning "get in the hole!" shouters!? I would be interested to know if anyone ignores this and exactly how the Augusta Marshalls will deal with such incidents!? I have a mental picture forming of...

Dirty Thieving Scumbags - Irons Pinched

    Answers to your questions...

Neil, I heard there's been a bit of rain recently - obviously this will make the greens much more receptive possibly paving the way for some low scoring. Do they look fairly soft and receptive or can we expect to see the usual brown, sun scorched, fast greens of previous years1? Cheers, ACP

Help with info on these clubs

If you can read the serial numbers, you can contact Ping Europe and they will check their data base and give you the specifications over the phone. ACP

    My Day at Ping!

Hi Divot - they measured my distance carry with a 7 iron. When asked how far I hit my 7 iron I said between 160 to 165yds. My actual average carry with the i10 Z-Z65 was 160 but slightly less with the AWT, around 155 yds.

    My Day at Ping!

Yes - I shall stick with the i3's for the time being (they're a great club) but will probably upgrade to the i10's later this year - sticking with the z-z65 stiff shaft which gave me a longer ball flight than the new AWT shaft. ACP

    My Day at Ping!

Just after Christmas I booked a fitting at Ping, Gainsborough, and took their earliest appointment which happened to be yesterday (they're very busy!)! It was about a 2 1/2 hours drive for me to get there but I'm convinced it was a very worth while experience. I've been fitted for Ping clubs...
