Kaymers ball striking just looks supreme - looking like the golfer everyone thought he would become 4 years ago

8 under on that course is just great golf

Yep, looks special. I am thinking the course is going to get tougher as they day goes on so he needs to make hay while the ... greens are damp...

Hopefully he has learned that his natural swing is more than good enough and you don't always need the magical draw shape.

Imagine how easy it is when you know you are so good that you can aim as far left as you like and have loads of room to the right knowing it will come back every time.

Loving the course. Much more of a UK heathland type feel.

I have sheckles on Kaymer , Kuchar, Mickleson, Jamie Donaldson and Jiminez

There's a long way to go but if Kaymer carries on like this it could be "Tiger at Pebble beach" impressive.

Take a bow that man

Kaymer was brilliant. To shoot 65 and be 3 better than the next placed player is amazing. Will he follow up with a 68 or a 75?

Another 65! could have been a 64. Amazing. New 36 hole record. On that course as it is set up that is truly brilliant. So precise with his approach shots and confident on the greens.

Wonder how the rest of the field will react?

Surely his to lose now. Can't see anyone firing two great scores and Kaymer playing that badly to fall backwards. There again what the heck do I know

I'd agree with you if he's leading by 8 after tomorrow's round Homer but two rounds left is a long way to go, especially if someone like Mickelson cuts the lead to 5-6 tonight. If he has a couple of 74s on the weekend (which looks very possible on that course) then someone else just needs to shoot par to even it up.

Is it just me that thinks the course is looking a bit scruffy?
The greens are immaculate and the bunkers look fine, but the fairways are patchy and there are a lot of think looking areas.

I was lucky enough to play Pinehurst #2 a few years ago and my photos look nothing like this.
Could this be due to the really bad weather they had in Feb?

P.s. cannot believe that this thread is getting less action than the one about what Ricky Fowler is wearing!

P.p.s. good to see the integrity of Matthew Fitzpatrick in calling a penalty on himself.
