I've done quite a lot of research before buying mine. From what I can see, Wren kitchens are good but their fitters are both expensive and rubbish so I've arranged my own fitter.

I got my builder to fit it as well as knocking walls down etc etc and he did a superb job. My son got Wren to fit theirs and it was good too but who they get to fit it may just be pot luck as to who's available at the time.

If you ever want to experience a pressure sell get a Sharpes fitted wardrobe person round.
I had fun with that one. Make sure you do all your research first!

Some of their fitters came in for a lot of stick on a recent TV program.
Fairly mixed reviews on Trust Pilot. A lot more really bad reviews on reviewcentre.com

Just back from our appointment there.....£14.5k quoted. Room is 3.2x2.2 metres.
Appliance wise that included double oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Also a quartz worktop at just over £3k.
More expensive than others have been, but it was spec'd higher.

Hmmm, were they all gold plated? We've got a galley kitchen with an extension across the back of the house, so about 2.7m on the inside wall, 5.4m down the outside wall, 2m along the back wall and about 1.8m as a sideboard in the opposite corner. John Lewis quoted £19.5k including double oven, induction hob, extractor hood (all Neff), larder fridge, larder freezer (Siemens) and a tumble drier (AEG rebadged as JL own), laminate worktop & upstand; that cost was fitted. Only extra was tiling.
Their designer was very good and listened (unlike some), the units are all good quality and were pre-assembled, slight faux pas in the ordering (door colour wrong), replaced without any quibbling and a new dining room suite as compensation for the inconvenience. No hesitation in recommending them or their fitter. :thup:

Had a look last year when buying ours ,went around them all but nothing stuck out eventually went for a German kitchen by Ponginhaus which was quality, and Corian worktops. A lad in work just bought one from Wren flat packed it came with no drawing on how to build it, not the best .

We had a quote from them when doing our renovation, completely unimpressed as all they tried to do was cram in as many cupboards as possible to increase the price, refused to listen to what we want etc. Even less impressed when we realised they are the same people that used to be Hygena
We ended up buying an ex display German kitchen from In-toto and had it independently fitted, got a far better quality kitchen, better appliances, corion worktops, better innards etc for less than wren wanted for a very basic kitchen

My current kitchen is a Wren, and the fitter was excellent .....but then I'm going to say how good I am
I sourced all my own appliance (being a white goods engineer), and basically told the designer what I wanted and how I wanted it laid out. He just matched up the unit sizes to accomodate what we wanted.
The units come pre assembled, you just fit handles and align the doors as required. I would put them up with the old Magnet units, that were resin bonded and mitred.
As with everything, its the fitter that can make the difference, but Wren kitchens are good.

Although I wont mention to the wife the last sentence in your post Tashyboy! A month?
I will certainly have a look at sourcing an independant fitter - seems a good way to go. And as the old saying goes, "The best quality is only as good as the fitter fitting it".
Not sure about a steam oven Roy, we don't cook as much fish as you probably do
Will be good in your "State of the art" kitchen! :thup:
