I've been out playing all day and just got home and caught up on this thread. I had to check the date to see if it is 1st April, congratulations backache you've played them all like kippers today 👏👏👏:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It appears to me that dress "codes" or "rules" are created according to what some people like or want to see and not see. This will always be a matter of opinion.
There has been a steady change from tweed jacket for men and women not allowed to wear trousers. This change of opinions is continuing. Some opinions are behind the times, some up to date and some are ahead of the times.
30 years from now, what will be generally viewed as appropriate will differ from today, but differing opinions will remain.

Our guidance to Visitors from our website...

We kindly ask all guests to respect our minimum standard of smart casual dress, which is best described as 'recognised golfing attire'

Make of that what you will, but I think that anyone who knows anything about golf etiquette knows what it means

In general this guidance is for playing. In the clubhouse we have become very much more relaxed about dress...though I still feel a little uncomfortable (in myself) if I go in wearing a t-shirt - it just feels wrong.

But sorry, no hats/caps to be worn in the lounges...bar staff (or a member) will kindly and politely request it be removed if worn.

Oooh dear...I've only got black golf shoes - and the thought of wearing anything other than white ankle/sports socks fills me with deep, deep foreboding.
Its a "rock and roll" look after all.
As in,
"White face, black hair, white socks, black shoes."

Usually wear trainers to the club but as I wasn’t planning on stopping After my round so I went in my favourite footwear Crocs 😎. However, I popped into our clubhouse after my round to wash my hands and check the Comp times for this weekend.. Clubhouse was busy with with the Vets getting ready for a match, the only comment I got was from the Pro “ I’ve got those in the same colour”. That was it nobody batted an eyelid or asked me to leave. So may wear them more in future 😂

They was too busy moaning about you wearing a hat to look at your feet 😂

My apologies I hadn’t realised you were playing in a ladies competition 😂.
I wish I could wear a visor but the lack of hair is most apparent exactly where the hole in the visor is and my head gets burnt 😂
Nothing wrong with playing with the ladies 👀😂

I love a Visor in the summer months, I have a thick mop of hair so often a cap on the course makes the head sweat, so a Visor helps keep the head cool and sun off the face. Win -Win situations.

Today I was wearing the exact one , that my fictional sporting hero wears. “Be Curious, not judgemental”
