One more of those golf issues where the main problem is enforcement.
Put up a sign. Guys walk in wearing hats. Who's going to say something?
This is it for me...if you're going to have a rule and you're not going to enforce it...what's the point of having the rule?
We have a "no wearing caps backwards" policy....I regularly see some of the younger generation doing it.
It doesn't bother me so I don't grass them up but it makes a mockery of the rule.

Take their sweets as punishment.

Home club sends a 'prepare for your round' email 24hrs before your tee time, to everyone. Member or visitor. It has all this kind of info in it, must be helpful for tourists etc but never read it after the first one
Does that mean you have to supply your Club with your guests email rather than just booking Slab + Guest?

At our place we send booking confirmation to visitors and societies with Dress code.

If I book a guest as a member I don’t even have to give a name.

Just checked our dress code it’s nice and simple.

On course:
-Golfing attire must be worn, collarless t-shirts are permitted (as long as not displaying offensive or overly large logos)
-Knee length smart shorts
-Socks must be worn, length and colour does not matter
-Walking trousers are permitted
-Footwear suitable to golf includes golf specific shoes, sports trainers that will not damage greens are accepted.
-Dark Denim is acceptable as long as it’s free from rips

Clubhouse:
-No ripped or dirty workwear to be worn in the clubhouse facilities
-Spikeless golf shoes are allowed as long as they’re clean and free from dirt

Like I said nice, simple and easy to follow. Also no requirement to assume people dressed in a relaxed way won’t repair pitch marks 😉😂
😱 The devil’s cloth!

We have a note on the booking confirmation that members are responsible for their guests and to ensure they adhere to the clubs rules

As does ours phil, so seeking clarification when people say ALL visitors receive an email and I’d reckon quite a few members of every Club probably have no idea what their own Club’s Dress code is.

I love how people get upset over it 😂

I’ve no issue with it whatsoever, that being said you wouldn’t catch me playing in denim would be bloody uncomfortable and the chafing when trying turn swing 😳.

That being said I love that they allow walking trousers, they’re stretchy, comfy, brilliant in the winter as they’re warm and durable plus extra zip pockets 😍

Don’t think there is anyway possible where you grab everyone’s attention

Normally takes about 3/4 weeks for everyone to understand that winter wheeels are required as an example
Exactly this for me as well. People will only see updates and Info if they’re actively looking for them.

Perhaps clubs should put bulletins out on booking apps that come up before selecting your tee time if they’re keen on getting everyone but even then there will those that circumvent or ignore it.

If a club is so uptight about its dress code that it feels the need to email visitors about it then it is anything but relaxed.

Most golfers will turn up in regular golf gear. If clubs are emailing out to visitors their code then it suggests that regular golf clothing is not quite enough on it's own and there are greater restrictions. Relaxation has left the building at this point.
You don't seem to understand the concept of a relaxed dress code. It appears that anything other than 'anything goes' is uptight and stuffy to you.

Commissioning course at Chatham we had the Corps Colonel give us a briefing on what is expected of us now we were “gentlemen” 😂😂

Finished off his brief with the instruction that we should be burn or donate any denim we owned when we get back to our home.😂😂

Now you know why I’d never commission even as a late entrant. Far too many uptight officer types that wear the compulsory beige chinos, checkered shirts and brown shoes. I prefer the grunt life where I can look at them and mock them whilst being bitter they get paid more than me 😂

Members will always blame visitors for pitch marks - yet we seem to find a lot of them on a Friday afternoon

For me there are two types

Those that can’t see the pitch mark

And those that won’t see the pitch mark
No, a lot of members blame seniors.

Often, peopke with trolleys don’t walk to the front of a green to look for pitch marks if they have parked their trolley at the back.

Disagree, why advertise you are showing Football games live in your Clubhouse to increase income and then ban the actual people from wearing their Club shirt.😵‍💫
I’ve never seen a football match played in a Wetherspoons.
It would be a mistake to allow people to wear football tops in certain places.
Totally divisive and risking agro. Also a big turn off to those not interested in football or agro!

I well remember being a member of a club in Manchester when the derby was on. I even remember leaving the club before the final whistle when the Boro were beating Utd. It was very toxic.
