I would argue that’s less simple and extremely ambiguous. You say no dress code but then ask people to leave if they don’t dress as expected 😂

I’d also hope you’re joking about the socks , shorts and open neck as once again that goes against the “we don’t have a dress code” as if that’s not allowed you clearly do!

Each club is entitled to their own code but to say you don’t have one then tell people they’re not dressed as expected screams otherwise 🤷🏼
Err yeah, this. "We don't have a dress code - but if you don't meet the standards of the imaginary dress code in our heads, then you're out!" Clear as mud.

By definition then asking people to dress as expected is a dress code.

I’d happily play golf in short, ankle socks and a normal t shirt. But seemingly that would fall short of your clubs expected. Unless you tell people what’s expected then, then you’re open to ambiguity.

I’m not going to re-open the sock debate but ankle socks are no more offensive than muppets wearing Knee length hose but that is accepted everywhere.

Apparently not 😂
I don’t have anyone on ignore apart those people who’s post I can’t see.

I think what is allowed to be worn in the clubhouse depends on what type of club you are.
If you are a club with a bar and restaurant it makes sense to try and generate more money from the general public so a more relaxed dress code makes sense.
If you’re purely a member only club then you can have whatever dress code your members decide on as it won’t affect the income.

It’s all about knowing your target market.
If you have a restaurant open to the public but jacket and tie must be worn after 17.00 then you’re going to struggle to attract Joe Public.

I've never met the guy with the food stained, moth eaten Asda polo shirt.
Maybe he was sent down the road. 😁
You know what they say, if you don’t know then it must be you 😂.
Years ago we had to play club matches in club shirts.
One guy refused to buy a new one every year and his must of been 15 years old.
The shirts were yellow but his was more an off white, to be fair there was no food stains on it.

The expectation is a dress code

Can people wear whatever they want at your club ?
Of course they can wear what they want , there is no code but if they wear stuff that is inappropriate to the situation they will be invited to leave. We don't feel we need to tell people not to abuse the staff either but they will be invited to leave if they do.

Let adults decide what they wear?
No it will never catch on 😂

But you have a notice telling people what they can wear 🤷‍♂

So they can wear what they want but if they don’t wear what’s on the poster they will be asked to leave 🤷‍♂️
