Jeez nasty.
Played whitecraigs once lightning landed on the ground right in front of us 200yds or seemed like it ,
Scared the life out of me.
Ran for my car.

Being struck by lightning on the 1st hole and spending three weeks in hospital with the resulting burns. And it wasn't even raining just some dark clouds way in the distance.

If you'd have had your 1 iron in your hand it would never have happened!

Must have been 10 years ago at Boat of Garten, i think it was the back end of a Forum meet.

went off last with the organiser, who i think was a car salesman from the HC, all he did was moan about the condition of the course, which had been under snow for four months and only thawed the week before..... was a bit rich to moan the amount he did.... esp considering he only saw the rough and the trees

Years and years ago I was playing in a club comp which included a meal after. It was clear one of my playing partners wasn't well both on the course and at the meal. A week later we were told he had suffered a stroke which left him paralysed down one side and confined to a wheelchair. He died a few years later. I regret to this day not asking if he was ok and getting help for him.
