Worst collapse you've ever had?

Society presidents 3yr ago , -1 on the 16th tee finished double double double (2pts total) to loose overall by 1pt ... 1 over through 8 , holed my second on par 4 9th to get to -1, then pard 10-15.. sick . also captains day (2nd day) in my old club , playin along ok then birdied 9-10-11-12 followed by an 8 on the par 4 13th , doubled the par 3 15th then .. ouch

scenario 1... 5 under gross on the 16th tee in a medal and nr'd.

That is toooo much. I need to lie down and exorcise this thought forever.

Poor you.

5 under gross after 16.....how good was that?! :(

I have been 5 under quite a few times but only finished that way twice. I was quite upset after that one for a few weeks I can tell you.

scenario 1... 5 under gross on the 16th tee in a medal and nr'd.

3 tee shots in the cabbage and not found and no way was I going back for more punishment. didnt know the double bogie rule at the time so didnt bother playing the last 2 holes , not that I was in any state to swing a club by then anyway.

scenario 2... 4 under par gross sitting 50 yards short of the 16th hole after my drive. Bladed a wedge over the green and OOB , duffed my next into the front bunker and got out and 3 stabbed for 8. Tried to cut the corner and go for the green on 17th but hit it OOB and took a double. Last hole sliced 2 tee shots OOB and finally gave up in disgust

My guess is that the 16th hole is not your favourite hole on the course... :)

The problem was the 16th was a reachable par 5 and always sucked you into going for it but there was massive cabbage all the way down the right and round the back (which fell away too). Lost and found many a ball on that hole.

The 2nd scenario we actually played the front 9 2nd so it was the 7th hole of the course. 7 ,8 and 9 all had internal or external OOB or even both :(

Apart from Saturdays fiasco it would probably be standing on the 16th +5 off about 14 or so and so in great shape and then going OB at sixteen (triple bogey) OB at 17 (double) and bogeying the last. I stood on 16 and started thinking about what I needed to do on each hole rather than just blatting it like I had been. Schoolboy error but one I am still capable of making

Looks like I'm the 4th to say I was 4 under gross standing on the 15th tee. I was 17 or 18.

Not a huge collapse but finished double, birdie, bogey, bogey for a -1 71.
I think I would have felt a lot worse if I hadn't managed to hang on to the minus number.
