Maybe because he is number 1 and getting more TV coverage, it seems he easily loses his temper more often now.

I always saw LW as a very cool/laid back cat, and dare I say it, kinda boring to watch.

A lot of temper coming out of him last night and during that incident there was a 'that's f'''ing sh1te' followed by a couple of unsuccessful swats to *** the ball away from where it lay on the green after the missed putt.

The simple fact is that we have all sworn when missing an easy putt or hitting a bad iron or driver, so what Westwood done was a natural reaction. What Westwood didnt do was spit on the green for others to come up and have to putt through.

And he doesn't have the air of arrogance and unapproachability (is that a word?) that Woods has either.

It feels like it's Tiger's divine right to play perfect golf and when he doesn't he gets all long faced and moody about it.

When other golfers (who swat away balls, you see this all the time) do it, it's not every hole and they don't make a habit of it. I don't have a problem with pro golfers getting frustrated with bad shots but gobbing on the greens and being disrespectful is not the way to carry yourself. You are NOT bigger than the game, which is the picture Tiger paints for himself.

Saying these other golfer do not make a habbit of these bad habbits is bollocks...i am not defending Tiger but he gets followed by the cameras every where and for every shot he hits so its going to be hard not to see these habbits and now westwood is number 1 he will have to put up with the constant attention so we will see more of the same.

My on course language is pretty horrific, I have to say, so I can't judge another person for the odd expletive otherwise that *would* be hypocritical. Spitting on the greens however....
