Won by a Dog Licence

Played in the club doubles open on monday and finished on the 12th winning 7 and 6 my playing partner then said my we won it by a dog licence, has anyone ever heard of this term before because I hadnt but it made me laugh.

Yeah, back in the old days a dog license was 7 and 6. I guess the saying will die out eventually, or it will continue with no one knowing the true meaning.

Good result, anyway.

I've heard of "bed & breakfast" for scoring 26 in darts before but never "dog licence"

I remember that saying especially from the older guys at the club. Has gone out fashion now (bit like B&B for 26 in darts). Not really any modern terms that have the same effect
