If it wasn't UK courses I may well have gone for this one,

Don't know, but it wouldn't be in Great Britain.
Probably all the courses in Barbados. Played the "municipal" one there once and even that was good.
Richard, I know a couple of Sunningdale members and they say it is a proper club with a real members feel. Ditto Hankley - I know two members well and am always made to feel very welcome. People often say that West Sussex is too stuffy and unwelcoming but it simply isn't true. I know loads of people there and it is a wonderful club. I think it is difficult to get a genuine feel for a place without 3+ visits.
The only issue with being a Sunningdale member might be that it gets pretty busy. I am now theoretically considering a switch to Swinley as I love it. Or St Georges Hill? It has the rackets club there and the houses are nice although I wouldn't want Russian Mafia neighbours!
Decisions, decisions!
Mmmm - club to join rather than club you'd like to play - I'd choose my previous club Alford Golf Club in Aberdeenshire - decent little course kept really immaculate these days - when i was there you put your name down in a half hour time space and got drawn with anyone who had opted for similar time - within a couple of months I knew nearly everyone at the club, good, bad and indifferent - I miss that badly, really friendly place to play as a vistitor at an open - but so much better as a member.
If we are talking about courses and welcome when visiting - then Royal Dornoch, Alyth, Forfar, Monifieth, Lahinch, Loch Lomond and Blairgowrie are some of the best I've experienced - I could play any of them every day (except Loch Lomond which would be perfect if Scotland had Portugal's climate) and be happy.
Alford is great isn't it! Played it once or twice and really like it!! Where are you a member at now?
Not sure about the membership there though Tiger.and of the courses that I could realistically get to Centurion.

Enough money would mean a house right next to the course and enough money never to need to work again.... if that's the case then I'd be more than happy to live in Uckfield and join East Sussex National. 2 x championship courses, no temps, 3 practice greens, short game area, covered driving range on mats and grass range with FREE balls, sauna and steam room - PERFIK!
Just can't justify the 40min drive to get there right now!!
