So if you had unlimited funds what golf club would you join in the UK ? It would be wentworth for me what about you ?
Not sure how much it is but I imagine around 8k - 10k and my limit is only £1200 a year :)

I'd probably join Birkdale, Hillside and Southport and Ainsdale. Only 25 minutes from my doorstep and I would be guaranteed to bump into loads of ex Liverpool and Everton players.. Sounds like a good laugh to me...

Blimey, I'd be spoiled for choice just within 10 minutes of my house. I'd probably go for Wentworth but Sunningdale and The Berkshire would be contenders (can I join all 3?).

If my unlimited funds stretch to a private helicopter I'd also join Royal Portrush as my away course :D

Even though moneys no objected they have to be close to my home i'd join, Royal St Georges, Chart Hills and the London Club. All within 40 mins drive from home.

its tricky, as unlimited money, doesn't mean unlimited time! so in all honesty, i would stay where i am as its under 5 minutes drive. I would however, go on lots of nice away days to the likes of sunningdale, Wentworth, Woburn.. might even go to Scotland, i heard they have some half decent courses!!

Definitely The West Sussex. Probably Sunningdale and Hankley Common too with country membership at Royal County Down.

Wentworth - NO WAY! Anyone saying this must never have been to Sunningdale. And of the Wentworth fans, how many of you went to West Hill? It is surely a much better members club than Wentworth? No comparison in my view. West Hill every time.

Good thread idea by the way.

I've heard good things about St Georges Hill (... Mainly from Snelly and Robo)

Gets my vote

It is lovely at St Georges Hill but Sunningdale is even better and in my opinion, by some considerable distance.

Close to home would be Glasgow GC with Gailes and Killermount to choose from. [Turnberry is closer but too resorty and the club is treated badly]
Away would have to be Sunningdale.

Both good 'members' clubs.

With unlimited funds, I go round the country playing the top 100 courses, then pick several in different areas of the country to become a member if they would have me.
