As the title suggests, does you club hold qualifying competitions over the winter?

Our medals and board comps have finished but the Pro shop are organising a number of Stableford events on Saturdays or Sundays, just enter in the shop if you wish to play. A new event for this winter is a Champions League style Top tracer event to be played on Wednesday evenings. Pairs event with 4 pairs in each group playing 9 holes on various courses. Top 2 in each league go into main knockout and bottom 2 into a Plate event so all pairs guaranteed at least 4 matches. Will be interesting to see how well it is supported and if if works ok.

No major/board comps but the monthly Stablefords and monthly medals continue throughout. I think they have to really, if you're going to have rules about having so many comp cards on your record in order to win a board comp in the following year. Midweek comps continuing as well.

We run comps all year round; every Saturday and Sunday, medals and Stablefords. Seniors and ladies sections also run their midweek comps throughout the year.
We play over a shortened course (5150 yards, par 67, with fixed teeing mats) over the winter months, usually from sometime in November though to the end of March.
Except for the rare occasions when temporary greens are in play, scores are always acceptable for handicapping.

Edit: We also run 2 knockout competitions through the winter, 1 foursomes and 1 greensomes, with 5 weeks between round deadlines.

As per others, a weekly stableford comp. Scores count towards a winter league, if you want to enter that as well, best 10 scores count across the winter.

Still to confirm if they will be qualifying scores or not. They have not been in previous years but supposedly our winter course is now rated. All bunkers have been GUR so far since we changed to winter tees so don't know yet if this is the case or not.

Comps continue as normal - mixed bag of all sorts, we tend to get a few more pairs/ team events through the Winter than in summer.

Competitions runover winter , but not qualifying ones though there is talk of there being a measured course this winter I don't know if it has been implemented.

Next to nowt.

Betterball on Sat 2nd Nov

A couple of AmAms in Dec that have a good chance of being cancelled.

We are hosting a county seniors scratch comp in March. Good probability of that being cancelled/postponed.

Nothing handicap qualifying in the diary until April.

Monthly medals continue on the first Saturday of every month, there are a few Stableford competitions and the pro will run a Stableford if there is nothing else on, just enter on the day, all will be off the yellow tee's. The course used to be rated for winter tee's and greens, though I'm not certain if this is still the case following the rating for slope. Last year the course was either open on main greens or closed.

I did notice that temporary greens had been marked out and the artificial tee boxes had been overhauled when playing last weekend.
