winter golf ball recommendation

Good option if you can get them is the Titleist Tour Distance - Costco used to do them and you can pick up some on Amazon

Slightly firmer than a ProV1x (my preferred choice in summer or abroad) and a good balance / much better than all the cheaper Titleist range in my opinion £19 for 12 I think they are

Cheers

Recently become a fan of both the srixon soft feel and the Wilson staff dx2. Both nice soft feeling balls that can usually be found for cheap.
I use a cheap ball in winter because it hurts the pocket less when losing them in the leaves or plugged, and everything stops on a dime on the green anyway.
I really like the Bridgestone e5 too but it's not often reduced to the level of the other two I mentioned.

Preferred ball outside of winter is a zstar or FG tour.

I don't think you can go far wrong with the srixon soft feel , if you have to change ball over the winter.

The new pro v 1x, I find feels the same as the. NXT ball, anyone else find that?

In a bounce game I'll use anything that is in my bag, for comps I have a selection of newbies that will be from Bridgestone e6, Srixon AD333, Wilson DX3.

I usually stick to AD333's or E6's for most of my golf only using premium balls for comps. I usually switch to a yellow ball once we get the first frosts for early morning starts and have just ordered some Callaway Hot Hex in yellow from Snainton Golf who have them on special for £9.99 per dozen which is less than half price.

I haven't used them before but reviews seem to indicate they'll be a decent ball for winter use.

Why would you switch ball for comps? Surely that's when you want a ball that you know how it react around the greens?

For me ....

At this time of the year it's a lottery to the ground conditions etc, some weeks will be very soft, some will be frozen solid, and the temperatures are all over the place too, so basically anything in between will be what I see on a Sunday comp. I swap from my old balls/pickups to a new ball simply to save a little cash (plus in a bounce game I'll probably not even bother to look for a ball in the trees)

while playing yesterday, i foud a yellow Bridgestone e6... , felt great off the driver and went further than the two other premium balls i was hitting. temp was about 5deg too so i'll be using that for the next few weeks.

I found an Ultra the other day and played 9 holes with it. It was fantastic. Went miles and not too bad for chipping etc.

Depends on what you want to spend I suppose. That said, I would not change for Winter. I prefer to stick with what I like.

One of my chums who plays of 15 bought the Callaway Hex Hot pro (the pro part made me laugh!) balls online and he got a free "Sponge Ball Wash" ... Well worth googling?

Just bought 2 dozen AD333's with the SpinSkin... The 333 was my ball of choice before i started playing with ProV1's.

333's will do me over the winter and maybe into the spring, they are cheaper to lose which is great, I can't seem to get the Limited Edition Pink ProV's now... Only have a few left so saving for special occasion...

I bought some titliest velocity the other week, didnt have time to go to pro shop or AG and i live near a sports direct. I was actually very very impressed with them! perfect for winter golf, went miles off the tee with decent feel with the short clubs! Winner!
