Another day of gusts of 30mph+ and feeling like -4 out there today when we're due out. Could be fun on the course. Not sure if our pp's will venture out though as they're more fair weather golfers than us.

I must be a bit of a mad man but i enjoy playing in the wind - it feels a bit mroe satisfying to manufacturer a few different shots - hitting pucny 5 irons from 150 yards - or chipping with a 7 iron from 100 yards - really good fun

Sounds like it's nearly as bad as the other Thursday when there were 54 mad ladies who still played in it

Should be interesting for me as I'm trying to put the swing changes the Pro is making me do into practice on the course Phil. Worked quite well in the wind yesterday so fingers crossed for today as well

Not much choice living on the coast Phil!!
Windy most of the time here, I enjoy it, more the fact it's making it feel about -10 I'm not looking forward to this morning.....

Good luck - nothing imo beats practise on the course -especially in tough conditions - if it stands up then it gives good confidence that what you are doing is working -

I agree. don't know why but I seem to play better in the bad weather. Maybe my expectations are lower so anything good is a bonus! Had a friendly game with a mate yesterday, beat him 7+6. I knew I'd win as he was moaning about the weather and the temp greens from the moment he pulled up in the car park

Yep - sure sign he is goign o have a mare
I turned up Friday with a shorter course and my mate grumbling about temps etc - i said lets just enjoy it
After 9 holes i had 4 birdies and an eagle - he was grumbling further about it being a lottery ( we were playing pound a hole
) and said we will only play 12 - so had two more bridies won all 12 holes and he had the rigth hump

I was at our practice ground yesterday hitting 8 irons straight into the wind. They were going nowhere. A sw was going around the same distance the opposite way.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be today and it warmed up quite nicely through the morning!! Course was lovely as always!! Did you manage a win with the new swing Anne???

Played our winter knockout alongside Ads749r. Tough conditions and clubbing very interesting. Scrappy golf and not a great scoring day so was glad it was matchplay. Did enough (well my partner did most of the work) to wrap it up 5&4 although the opponents didn't play well and seemed to be really struggling in the wind. Bitterly cold in the wind too. Nice with the sun out if you were sheltered but brrrr otherwise

Really enjoyed it today in the wind.Had lots of chances to try different things as it was just a friendly knockabout. Im getting in practice for our south west game at Burnham. I dont think we will get away with just a breeze like last year
