So there I was, on my way to hospital as my wife was undergoing spinal surgery :((fusion of lower discs - now who's going to carry the coal in to our little welsh cave? :D)

Anyway, in my concern for my adorable wife i turned to my 'happy place' of golf thoughts. I pondered the fact that my Ping G10 3 wood had been misbahving, down to it being a draw model :D. Before I knew it I was in American Golf having a look at the goodies. All the time realising my wife was out cold on an operating table. A short while later I was needing little convincing that I needed to try out some clubs for contrast.

My main concern? to make sure that I got to the hospital before she came out of recovery and returned to the ward - talk about needing to focus under pressure!!

Eventually traded in my Ping G10 and walked away with a Ping Rapture 14degree wood, and more importantly was on the ward well before Cath was returned safe and sound to me :D

Next problem is explaining that I'm due to tee off in a white box on saturday at about the same time they are planning to discharge her

So back to the OP, will this send me to Hell???

seriously thoough I've been bricking it all day, just glad that all is well for her.

John.

I think you are safe from hell

Now if you had bought a chipper in AG, that would be another matter. Satan would be sharpening a pitchfork as we speak.

Hope she recovers well. As for Saturday. I think you already know the answer to that little question.

HH I know you're right.

8.44 on the tee it is then. :D

if i did that it's not only my Titleist balls i'd lose. and that's a guarantee

Straight to hell!!
-Its a place where no matter how well you play you always 3 putt.

and best wishes for a swift recovery to your good lady.

Your hearts in the right place don't worry about it. Sounds like a perfectly executed plan, good work!

A friend of mine ;) is chatting up a golf pro and taking her to dinner to get free lessons, regardless of the fact she looke like the love child of Monty and Laura Davis now he is is gong to hell!

Can you not slip the nurses a few bottles of vino to keep her in for another 4 hours or so? Everyone's a winner then :D

Keef, that and more has crossed my mind, especially as I broke 80 last week and am in a rich vein of form.

However, the love of a good woman is on balance - only just mind you - worth more than a round of golf.
(could be the start of an interesting thread - what would you sacrifice for a round of golf??)

Stay with the wife, and miss Saturdays golf.

Being totally selfish about it. Just think of the brownie points. It could be worth many rounds of golf at some point.

To be honest in 8 years together she has never once complained about any ammount of golf I have played. As long as it's not everyday, or if it was, as long as we still has time together she is absolutely brilliant about it.
Could never ask or wish for a better wife :D

There would never be a doubt about what i'd pick. Cath wins every time over golf (but it is close - just don't tell her)

HTL

How can you say that after dating a Wentworth member to try and get some freebie golf? How did it go in the end anyway?

JohnG - I think your wife came from the same mould as mine. Absolutely no problem with getting away to play and practice. SHe has had health ssues over the last few years and so a few days sacrificed for hospital visits etc seem a small price to play for the amount of golfing freedom I get.

I think at the end of the day as long as your wife is fit to be left on her own when she gets in she'll feel guilty if you miss your game. My advice would be play and forego the 19th.

I think your heart is clearly in the right place and you'll be safe from hell this time.

Visit the Mrs. on Friday night and keep coughing and sneezing, then tell her you were out the other day with a couple of guys who were just back from Mexico. Make sure the staff over-hear this and they will keep her in for a few days more until you recover! :D ;)

Had to laugh. As I was reading it, I was expecting the brownie points to be used for post hospital rumpy pumpy ( good physio exercise, honest ).

Just goes to show where golf is on your list of priorities.
