• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Why is it ok for women to do this.

Just checked the cards, the index's are pars are the same but on 2 of them I'm giving 55yds, one is 89yds and the par 5 is 122yds!

Boohoo... How much further can you drive the ball than your high handicap lady opponent?
Don't act like you're being hard done by.

If it makes Fish feel any better, the last time I played in a Ladies V Men matchplay, I was giving shots to both the men!

Anyhoo, this seems to have degenerated into the usual male golfers v women golfers thread...
We all love the game... Let's reserve our contempt for those poor souls who don't play golf!

I think I need to send my calendar back for a refund. As it's been printed wrong. It says its 2013, where as in fact it must be 1813 judging from some of the misogynist **** in this thread.

Still, keep up the good work some of you, as it no way is it making you look silly and isn't reinforcing the stereotype that some males that play golf are so out of touch with their attitudes to women it is painful. Certainly not.

I'm a pretty strong believer in equality in all walks of life. As a gay lady I have plenty of experience of discrimination. So if the thread is asking "should men and women be treated entirely equally at golf clubs?" I'm obviously going to say yes. The reason I struggle to take it seriously is that, with all the discrimination against women at golf clubs, the best example of anti-male "discrimination" you can come up with is that men can't wear sleeveless shirts.

I can honestly say that if any man at my club turned up in a sleeveless shirt, skirt, make up or whatever I wouldn't care. It's just a non-issue.

If you genuinely think men are hard done by in comparison to women at golf clubs, in any way, then by all means lets debate it. But dress codes? Come on!

Excellent post and a beacon of sanity in the middle of some pretty neanderthal attitudes by some.
