Since the beginning of April this year Tashyboy has played in 19 comps at my course. Comps of all formats, 9 hole stapleford front, 9 hole stapleford back, 18 hole stapleford, and Medal. This is his record up to yet.

Finished no where 6 times.
3rd in division 4 times
runner up in division 1 time
Division winner 6 times
Overall winner 2 times

Handicap start of the season 21.3, now 20.8. God knows how much I have flippin won in shop vouchers. A large wedge went towards me new Pings.

i have been cut twice 0.4 and 0.8 ironically when I finished 4th both times.
i have finished in the buffer zone 9 flippin times.

Won my div on Tuesday and won overall yesterday in an 18 hole medal. Finished yesterday with a (+1 buffer zone ) having shot a nine on a par five where I get 2 shots. Competition scratch score was a 76 and I got flippin 77.

can someone buy me club shop vouchers off me for a cut in hcap.

Bloody game is killin me.

Hobbit says well played. Hobbit wishes he'd played half as good.

Hobbit, when I sit down and think about yesterday's round and think of the stoopid shots I played, I don't know how I have not got alopcia on me Tash.
when I think of all the stoopid shots I have played in most of me rounds, I dont understand why I don't look like Kojak.

Woody 3 rd party ( tash and Missis T keeps me sane ) on days/ moments like this.:sbox:

i think most people would be quite happy with your results Tashy,2 cuts and a load of vouchers isnt to be sniffed at. the summer is only half through and it bodes well for more cuts im sure .
just enjoy being out there mate.

Sorry but I can't see what the problem is ?

Your HC has come down , you have won a number of comps plus some places in the comps - just relax and forget about the HC it will sort itself out

And agree with woody - why talk about yourself in the third person ?!

Tashy is the ONLY person that it is acceptable for to talk about himself in the third person. Fact!

Sorry I don't make the rules.

youre frustrated that youve won 6 times out of 19 comps???? handicap is just a number, dont get hung up on it!

Dont get me wrong fundy the results don't lie, but I have lessons, read books on physcology of golf, pick up tips from the coach, practice like the bloody clappers to play better golf, bought new bats, to try and reduce hcap. Winning vouchers is secondary. I would enter comps for nowt and would sooner take a 0.2 cut every time I won owt over a tenner every day.
I do understand your hcap number thing, but a reduction in hcap shows an improvement in your game does it not. Is that not all our aims re golf. Thats mine not a flippin £20 cap.

on a positive I know it's goin in the right direction but, it's just around the corner, just around the corner.

Where's that red wine.

the more you get frustrated or worry about it the harder it gets though, thats why i say its just a number, if you do need to look at it, look at it over a 2 year period not a few months :) enjoy the wins, you clearly are improving and sooner or later the handicap will catch you up (it often lags behind for improvers!)

oh and a glass of white plse :)

Played at your place today Tash, really enjoyed it. Some nice holes. The downhill par 3 and the par 5 that doglegs right with the lake before the green personal favourite! Took us 4 hours 50 though due to a 4 ball that just wouldn't let us through! Got to the downhill par 3 and 2 more four balls joined us on the tee whilst the stubborn 4 ball took their tee shots. But enjoyed it even so! Shot a respectable nett 68 and then played 18 on the way past my home club! Result

Selwood did you play with your dad, the par five with the lake is the zig zag and If you can get your drive away, and hit a good second shot, and get over the pond. You have a chance. That is one of the holes that kills my round every time.

reason why I asked if you went with your dad was, I have some freebie tickets I was going to leave behind the counter for you both. If you go back soon let me know and I will leave them for you before I get rid of them.

The down hil par three ( Hallam heights ) they are looking at putting in another tee where you play directly over the pond. How did you find the par threes.

nett 68 is an excellent score. Re the fourball not letting you through, yup know exactly what you feel.

I think whilst I was looking at the scoring for the year, I was thinking how's that work out. Fortunately being as thick as pig muck, I am of the ilk what was well was, and I just sort of get on with the next round.
As much as I/ Tashyboy😜Gets bogged off, I always think of the positives. Yesterday I could not get a scent drive away with my driver and started drivin with my 3 wood, my PP asked me what was going to off. Until I started putting them down the middle. There is progress, but flippin Eck.

Yeah took me old man. Yeah was tough! Managed to par the zig zag par 5. Hit 3 wood off the tee on a lovely line. 9 iron lay-up then stiffed my wedge for an easy 2 putt. Managed 5 over through 13 and then just lost concentration with the stop start of things. Although a member I spoke to said the front 9 was tougher I definitely found it easier to score on the front. Wind and rain came through on the back and was soon only getting 220 yards with driver. The hallam heights hole is a great hole. Hit smooth 5 iron today with wind off the left. But is definitely one of those holes that one day you could be hitting 7 iron, next you could be hitting 4 iron. Brilliant hole. Par on every par 3 bar the 17th took a double on there with a bad tee shot off to the right.

And re the free tickets. Thank you very much, reason I didn't drop you a message to sign us in or anything was we got county cards and when I rang he said county card was members guest rate so didn't want to bother ou unnecessarily. I would go back for sure, it's no further for me than my home club really. Re the fourball, these things happen. Although we all know they shouldn't, they do. Just tried not to let it bother me, there to enjoy myself not get hot under the collar. Although the fourball behind us did mention that he would of 'fired one up their arse' by now. Could see where he was coming from to be fair. But refrained from temptation.

Pauldj42 thinks it's because Tashyboy is a City fan and God thinks Tashyboy should suffer for that reason.

Selwood, Sir John Starkey who owns the course originally built a nine hole course, front nine on the orchards. The course was designed by ? The secretary of the golf course designers association in America, or someone like that. X number of years later, the back nine was designed by him, which is nothing like the front nine, it really is a chalk and cheese course with some preferring the front to back and Vica versa.
the back nine is very much designed with the wind being a major factor. The greens at the moment are very slow due to the rain they have had.if you fancy another knock up there give us a shout. This Sunday's family day should be a good day out.
All the best Tash.

Ah makes sense that they are so different then, yeah people I had spoke to that had played it earlier in the year said the greens at your place were lightening quick. Still ran at a fair speed today I thought! Have played a lot slower this season for sure. Great nick though. Will do pal cheers top man!
