9 hole qualifiers - Is getting cut easier?

Yes it is, I believe SSS for the greens is 70, 71 off the whites. We have blues as well which i think is 73/74

Ladies tees are red and then we have yellow tees as well which match the distance of our smaller course. No idea what the SSS is for these

If the 18-hole SSS for the greens is 70, I find it very, very difficult to believe that a 9-hole SSS is set at 73.

As I said in an earlier post, I would expect the 9-hole SSS to be 1 or 2 strokes less than the 18-hole SSS.

Green SSS seems to be 70 and whites is 72.



The only info I have for 18 holes on the greens is below. This was captains day where the pins were tucked and the greens fast. Was also a 2 club wind so was playing pretty difficult:



The only reason I can see it being 73 in the 9 hole comp is because we play SI 1, 2 & 3. Along with 5 & 7.

I would imagine Match Play just based on how hard I find the holes but I couldn't say for sure.

Which is why I do find it strange that we get so many shots over the 9 holes.

Saw that a guy playing off 6 gets 5 shots!

i think the new Torvean (Kings), will be doing this, as i'd imagine some of the holes would be far too long now for some of the old codgers, not to mention the climb on the upper holes

the old course was under 6000 yards and all the long holes were low si, new one is 6600 and i needed driver off all but the par 3 last night
