Went to the range this morning & was shanking everything with a 8 iron. Don't know why, but I tried lowering my hands, so that there was an angle between my arms & the club (usually they are almost in a straight line). This, for some reason, made me flex my knees more & I started hitting it really well. It worked with other clubs up to & including the driver.

Why?

Years ago, probably more than 20, I played in a weekly medal. I had not long been a Cat 1 golfer, and playing the 13th that day I was level or 1 over playing the 13th. (It was a long time ago and I can’t remember exactly but I did have a good score going). Hit a good tee shot which left me a full wedge to the green. Boom. An unmentionable straight out of bounds. Drop a ball for the next shot. Same club and I was 💩ing myself thinking the same was going to happen again. However, I stiffed it to about 18 inches for a tap in bogey.

Your honour, I rest my case. Golf is stupid.
