I was playing a hole today, and i sent one over the tree's and on to the other fairway, because its easier to reach the hole. So i make my way to where i know my ball is, only to find a couple of oldies walk up the fairway. I asked them if they have seen my ball, " eh NO SON " . LMAO i cant believe this, they have choried my ball. Well needless to say my round was totally ruined. I never pick balls up on a course that don't belong to me, so why do people think its ok to do so. I honestly could have emptied both of their golf bags, and totally embarrassed them.

Can you categorically prove it cleared the trees and landed on their fairway? To be honest firing blind onto another hole deserves to have the ball pinched. I wouldn't be best impressed to be walking along and have a ball land near me

To be honest, coming onto a national golfing therad and using words like "choried", which not many of us have got a clue what it means, deserves to lose their golf ball ... ;)

Choried - is that old Norsk or something ?

I am totally intrigued to know what that means and where it comes from

Firstly, are you suggesting that only 'old' people do this? And secondly, if you blasted your ball over some trees, how do you know it finished on the fairway and not in the rough or trouble?

I've seen plenty of young people play the wrong ball or pick one up that they think has been lost, it's got nothing to do with age.

I think you're making a huge assumption there. As Homer said, are you sure you reached the fairway and that they picked it up?

Choried ;)

theres a word I havent heard for years:D

and you may need to explain it to some of our Englandshire counterparts:whistle:

Girls relax, First, the tree's are about ten feet high as the are newly planted to encourage you to hit your second from a down hill lie. Second, this is a part of the fairway that is not used on the other hole, because they are hitting round the other corner. Third, Buy a Scottish dictionary if you don't understand. Fourth, stop jumping to the wrong conclusion. God so many keyboard warriors.

First, make sure you explain yourself fully. Second, just because the trees aren't that high doesn't mean you automatically hit it where you thought. Thirdly, it isn't actually that clever to use big words or phrases the majority won't understand and finally, not a case of keyboard warriors but just frank and honest replies based on peoples interpretation of your OP (see my first sentence above)

Hopefully that will teach you that part of the fairway is actually used and a shout of fore is used next time or if you don't learn I hope many more rounds are ruined by your stupid behaviour

Let's examine your logic:

You make the following assumptions:

1. You know exactly where the ball you just hit over some trees would land.
2. You know that 2 "oldies" saw your ball and either pocketed it or disposed of it in some other way.

Your false sense of logic puts 2 and 2 together and you are convinced that that is what old people do.

So you are the majority, really....

Try a google search.

And i can assure you, i know where i put my balls.

It must be great to be soooo perfect. NOT......

why are you suggesting that only 'old' people would steal a ball? I'm probably what you describe as 'old' and to be perfectly honest, I take offence at what you are suggesting. I've seen plenty of bad behaviour from young people on the course, from what you've described it sounds like your behaviour isn't too clever either.
