Why do I do it? - New irons - Orka.

Brampton Park member here :-) Don't see many (if any) second hand sets in the pro shop so perhaps one of their own "cast-offs" or a member bought a new set so Al did them a favour and moved them on.

Al is a very good, solid and professional pro so I'd be shocked if you had any issues. Enjoy :-)

Thanks Amanda. I knew you were a member but didn't want to drag you into the thread unwillingly .

As I said, I'm not expecting any issues, and at the price I paid I can't really complain if they are a bit "well used". I'm just looking forward to the possibility of finishing a round, taking off the large elbow support, and not feeling like I've been shot in the arm..:D

Hope they do the trick and help the elbow to heal. I had golfers elbow from swimming and tennis elbow from golf - neither are pleasant!

UPDATE....The irons were delivered today and I've just opened the box. First impressions are;

Condition -

The heads are obviously used but are still in decent condition. Pretty much what you would expect from a forged head after a couple of years regular use without headcovers.. Grooves are good - 6/10

The shafts are in great condition with no pitting or rusting - 8/10

The grips are decent and have at least 1 season in them, possibly 2 - 6/10

So, overall, I'm really happy.. But, there's a little surprise. The Pro obviously didn't check every club when listing them for sale. To my surprise, I've found that the 4 & 5 irons are RS 5's. The 6, 7 & 8 are RS 3's and the 9 & PW are RS 1's..

So, there you go. For a grand total of £42 (adjusted up from £40 because delivery was £12 not £10), I've got a very nice set of "Flow" irons. I might take them to the course tomorrow, or more likely the range on Sunday...

I love all Monet's paintings.....

Actually, one of the first trips was a Friday work one to Paris - so we both stayed for the weekend coinciding with last days of Tour de France. It was too busy to go to Louvre or Orsay, and we just happened to come across L'Orangerie - if we'd been looking for it I don't think we'd have found it! But Wow!

HOLY CRAP! The clubs themselves were actually £30 and you got a great mixed set!!! Shocking!

Bargain of the century there.

Rs5/3/1 combo - sounds an awesome set

Yes mate. Was a surprise when I opened the box..

You're not wrong fella. Really looking forward to hitting them tomorrow morning. I might give them a good buff and do some paintfilling as well to really bling them up. You never know, they might just replace the Cobras...

Bluewolf, this is actually a refreshing post it's so nice to see a transaction turn out a bargain and just keep getting better. Often you would see a combo set of say cb/mc or mc/mb, but to get a fully progressive set from cb/mc/mb through is awesome.

I really do hope they work for you buddy, would be a nice way to start the year looking down at a set like that thinking " cost me less than a green fee and breakfast" but if not my offer stands, but really hope you rip it up.

Just notice you have the cell pro too, now that's a set of irons and a half.
