I recently played in a mixed scratch event, not only did the players off red tees get to play a hugely shorter course (no problem with that) but they also had shots (2 I think) taken off because the SSS of their shorter course was higher than the SSS of the whites.?‍♂️
I found that absolutely ludicrous in a scratch event.
If it's a scratch event, the only fair way is one main tournament and separate prizes for any players using different tees, to adjust scores based in a scratch event just reduces it to figure skating ⛸ and synchronised swimming.

Who comes up with this nonsense??
Someone will be making a shedload of cash off the back of it :ROFLMAO:

Err, no.
They are playing a scratch tournament off an EASIER course, obviously easier because it's 700 yards shorter.

The fact that it might have been arbitrarily assessed as harder for the average woman club golfer to assess their handicap should be totally irrelevant in a scratch tournament.

"In 3rd place, Joe Bloggs, 71"
"In 2nd place, Fred Smith, 70"
"The winner, off red tees, Mary Midge, 72 nett 69".?

It's so ludicrous, you couldn't make it up.
Or it could be announced as
"In 3rd place, Joe Bloggs, 1 under scratch"
"In 2nd place, Fred Smith, 2 under scratch"
"The winner, Mary Midge, 3 under scratch".

That make you feel any better?
