Thing for me though Is the system is supposed to level the playing field for everyone to compete.
but divisions does the total opposite by dividing us up.
There can only be one overall winner but the score nessesary now to win is beyond some lower handicap golfers.!

Although I agree with implementing divisions, to me the necessary use of them only goes to prove a flawed H/C system.
If the H/C system worked as it should, divisions wouldn't be needed.
EG know there is a problem, but they move at a snails pace, so it will take them quite a while to make the necessary adjustments.

Have you got documented stats that show the proportion of abnormally high scores in relation to the proportion of very high handicappers in the field?
In fact, have you got documented stats that show the incidence of abnormally high scores?
Most golfers don’t use stats.
I go on my experience at my own club and what friends tell me is happening at theirs.
maybe you put to much faith in your “ stats “ that can be used to show anything you want them to.

WHS doesn't let low handicappers win because they can't score low enough.
WHS doesn't let High handicappers win because when their do everyone moans it's unfair, and the only reason they won is because of the system
It’s not the really big cappers winning at mine.
It’s the 16/18 caps who have got 4/6 shots back since WHS was introduced.
last season we had 7 scores 50+ points Win individual comps.
some of the 4bbb scores were laughable it’s putting me off comp golf.

At a local course last Friday the winning score for a 4BBB was 54 points, how can single figure h'cappers score that ?
it is getting very close to a lot of friends not entering these events.

Given that stableford points tell us nothing and Slope has (generally) increased handicaps for higher handicappers I wonder how CR relates to the par of the course.
4bbb scoring has always been notorious for ridiculous scores.

But I do worry about some h'cap c'ees diligence.

Yep it’s the hcap comittiees fault.

why dosnt stableford tell you anything.
it tells me some people get far to many shots.
50% of comps at ours are Stableford.

How does one isolated score tell you that?

(And please don't say "no-one should be able to score that many points".)

And some people seem to think to CR - Par shouldn’t have been introduced when WHS was started in Nov 2020.

UHS was concerned about limiting increases to 0.7 I think. Revised down from 1.0 in a year.
WHS has no concern about increases up to three - which can also happen much more quickly, i.e. theoretically in fewer rounds than would have been possible under UHS. And doesnt stop there, but starts to apply a gentle brake.
That is quite a different philosophy. The rate at which a golfer's ability or potential best score can deteriorate did not change along with the change of handicap system.

UHS was notoriously bad at keeping pace with declining ability.

I dont remember for certain, but am I right about the reduction to max increase without interventino of hc cttee from 1.0 to 0.7 shots in a year ? If so, it does indicate concern about increase of even a shot in a year.

So essentially, "no-one should score that many points".

If that is truly a usual winning score, just how many strokes less than par is your course rating?
I have said before the course is wide open as the GK has butchered the rough.
but WHS has contributed to these scores .
Some have their head firmly planted in the sand!

What is your course rating and par?

If the course is not the same as when it was rated, and should now have a lower bogey rating, that will be contributing to better scores from higher handicappers relative to lower handicappers. That is not the fault of WHS, but of the club/greens amending the course without re-rating.
