Who wears the trousers in your relationship?

My Mrs allows me to play golf whenever I want during the week. At weekends I can play golf on one of the days and the other becomes a family day with our 6 year old son. I am also granted a pass every month for a four day golfing trip to Spain with a couple of mates.

I suppose she wears the trousers, but i did the custom fit to suit me.

I've always said that we've both got a pair of trousers, the only time there's an issue is when we both decide to put them on on the same day ... :)

We're sound.

I have my money, she has hers and the rest is for bills, spends and holidays.

Within reason I can follow the reds, but less so now. I can lots with the golf and can do 4-5 trips a year, as long as it doesn't impinge on our holidays. I play 3 times a week for 7 months, and as long as we do something, no probs.

We also do lots together, and if I do go near taking the pee, she'll do the old "its up to you" and it will be. However, then I'll either normally back away, or do it, but make it up to her.

She is happy for me to enjoy my life, me the same for her, and we both enjoy it together.

A few years ago she had an option of a two week teacher exchange with a school in France - I said go for it.

2005 - I'd seen LFC play Monaco, Deportivo, Juventus, Chelsea, and for Istanbul the flights in and out were £650, 1 night stays £850 and me and the lads looked at all options, as hated paying them silly prices. We found a week in Marmaris for £280, I said its not ideal (a week away with the lads), but she said its a no-brainer, go and enjoy - and come back with the European cup!!!!!!

Before we got together I told her I played golf and that I would not be giving it up. however I do make sure I pay her the attention she deserves and treat her like the lady she is.
She never moans at me about anything she does not have to fork out for anything I pay all the bills and I think she likes that, her last husband was and still is a miser.
She now knows she has her independence and she loves that. She looks to me for advice at times and I like that. I would not swap her for anyone. The question of who wears the trousers has never really come up. However she would tell you that I do and I would tell you she is right.

I try to be fair with the Missus.
We both work full time, I get a day off in the week, (usually Wednesdays) due to the fact that I work every Saturday and some Sundays.
Because she isn't around during the week I can do what I want on the my Wednesday off, whether that is playing golf or fishing. She doesn't mind.
On the Sundays I am not working I do tend to do what she wants to do. I try to steer away from my two "hobbies" but if a game is offered to me and the course is worth visiting I will run it past her and she usually agrees that I can go.
If I ever go fishing on a Sunday I will make it an early morning session (about 5am) and fish until lunchtime.
She doesn't get up until late on a Sunday anyway.
Regarding money, if we've got any spare I'll spend it. I'm terrible.
My Missus feels guilty if she spends a couple of quid on herself.
I keep telling her not to be silly, but it's just the way it is.

Balanced although I do think I get away with a lot.

Same here, she does have an excuse not to do anything at the moment, she is trying to put on a lot of weight so I have to do her active chores and cook her lots of food!

We have a good balance, I get loads of time to do my things and her to do hers.

We have been together since 18 and have spent over 3 years of our 11 year relationship living in different cities, 14 months when married! We value our time together now but don't try spend too much of it doing stuff together, we just are happy to be coming home to the same house each night!

I don't think I've ever asked for permission to buy anything - If I've got the money and want something I'll just buy it.

I'm not extravagant though (except for cameras and lenses - and they pay for themselves long term).

And I pretty much do what I want to as well, I don't need permission to go for a pint etc., my missus plays golf but apart from that and the family our interests are miles apart, it works for us.
