Played in pub society game on Saturday. Its individual Stableford, but each 3 ball is given a team ball which is played by each player in turn, highest points on team ball wins. So I got the team ball on the 1st, par 4 338yds. It was a ladies bright pink thing, which looked like it was made of glass. So cheap there wasn't even a makers name on it. Despite the usual banter I got a great tee shot away, followed by short iron to 3 feet and birdie putt. In fact we all scored well with this "rubbish" ball, it had 26 points when I lost it with my signature slice on the 10th.
So will I not play premium balls in the future? Course I will

I think it would make little difference to my game playing with a Pro V1 or one of those faded, dirty, rust-coloured ones you find plugged in a muddy ditch that's obviously been there a few years. I know which would give me a bit more confidence on the tee though!

I know what you mean. Was playing at Prince's and found a wierd blue/opaque Volvik 'Crystal' ball. I was playing so badly that for a laugh I decided to tee this baby up much to the amusements of my playing partners.

They wern't laughing for long as I played the next for holes in one under! :D
