I'll drink to that my friend,a just and trusted view..
Yep consistantly 2nd,3rd,4th etc. I want my worlds no1 to win the best trophies available not a local medal in indonesia. Why, because unlike all the other number 1 players he hasn't got the bottle to win a major, get back to me when he has won 3,4,5,or 6 instead of making a career out of coming second. I'm not beating him up, he isn't good enough to hold the title in my opinion.westwood never deserved to be number 1,why! cos he aint a
yank?..stop beating the guy up
It is a reflection of consistency and there is little doubt over the last few years including the majors Westwood has been very consistent.
I'm not saying a flash in the pan should be number 1. I'm saying that a number 1 should have the game to win majors Lee Westwood hasn't and he has shown it on numerous occasions, if not he would have won one or two by now, that cannot be denied. Lots of tour pro's finish top ten-twenty week in week out no one calls for them to be number 1. I'm not saying Westwood isn't a phenominal golfer, he is but not in the same league as Tiger or Mickleson. Frankly I don't care how loud folks disagree fact is Westwood will NEVER have the record that Tiger has and I can't see him winning a major.Yep consistantly 2nd,3rd,4th etc. I want my worlds no1 to win the best trophies available not a local medal in indonesia. Why, because unlike all the other number 1 players he hasn't got the bottle to win a major, get back to me when he has won 3,4,5,or 6 instead of making a career out of coming second. So by that reckoning Todd Hamilton would be a worthy number 1? It takes one good week to win a major but two good years to get to number 1, how many majors you win along the way is largely irrelevant.

Hawkeye, at last the voice of reason, you are the only on here that can see my point. Thanks for that mate. I may be wrong on this but I liken it to your club champ getting it 'cos he has had more top tens in the years comps than anyone else, would that be acceptable?
If you dont play you dont get points, ask Lee or Luke..
no one has a divine right to live on their past
not even Mr Woods..
Just a thought
Westwood is world number 1
Luke took home 1/2 million dollars more than Lee for a weeks work.
I assume both will say they got the best result

I think it's unfair on Luke Donald to say he's only interested in money, since it was Lee Westwood that received a large appearance fee for just playing in Indonesia.
