On another thread I was somewhat surprised to read that someone actually lets their other half clean some of their golf gear!!

Now I like to be looked after and taken care of at home as much as I can get away with (or to put it another way I'm as lazy as I'm allowed to be) but... I look after my golf kit myself (even if they've been 'wiped' clean at the club I'll still clean them myself later)

I couldn't imagine someone else at home cleaning my clubs, shoes, bag or other golf gear. Its such a personal thing, it would be like having someone wipe your rear end for you!

Are you over protective about who cleans your kit or do you just want it done?

Well, as we both golf we usually do them between us. HID was cleaning his clubs last weekend so also did a couple of mine that were dirty. Mine don't get as mucky as his usually.

Mrs AAC is not a golfer, Mrs AAC ergo does not clean my golfing equipment, although bless her she does put my waterproofs and towel in the wash when they need it.

If I even SUGGESTED that my wife cleaned my golf equipment, my hybrid would likely be inserted somewhere dark, smelly and warm.
And I would imagine that it would be done very (very) slowly.

Just remembered that a few weeks ago I had to take a mates clubs to the course after they were left at mine from the game before... had a look at them, 3 months worth of crud! So obviously I cleaned them for him... it did feel a little bit like giving his wife a hug for an inappropriate amount of time! :o

Mrs Lambchops like a round of golf as well as me so when I'm cleaning mine I'll do hers as well. I wouldn't let her clean my clubs mind - I was the same when I played football mind, boots and gloves were always cleaned after every match or training session

I could ask but I'm 100% sure the answer would end in .....off;)

As above. I can picture the look of disdain she would give me as well. To be fair I would never expect someone else to clean my gear. It is is mine so my responsibility. I actually find it a little therapeutic, looking after your gear is part of the whole process of sport.

Hahaha.
that sounds like my type of Saturday night.

im the other way round me I clean the girlfriends clubs without her even asking. If I asked her to clean mine I'd go from having 14 clubs to 28 clubs as they would be snapped in half. But she does things for me that I don't ask her to do like cook the evening meals because if I did we'd both be dead. :)

Always my excuse to miss the soaps on a Monday, so I always clean them, and I would be embarrassed rockin up on the first tee with camouflage clubs:p

It's not so much that I'm protective, more that if I didn't do it it wouldn't get done (oh OK, and I'm a little bit protective :D)
