When I forgot my shoes a few years back I just played in my ordinary shoes.

Forgot my putter once and borrowed a TM Spider, could not believe how easy it was to use and barely missed anything from inside 12 feet.

I've never forgotten to take my golf shoes with me but have forgotten to change into them twice. Realised halfway around both times that I wad playing in walking boots once and sandals the second time.

I once arrived at the club for an interclub match and realised I had left my club shirt at home. Luckily there is a Sports Direct next to the club so I could go and buy a new shirt so I was at least wearing a shirt of the right colour.

I once got to the club and realised my clubs were still at home just enough time to get home and get back for my tee time but not enough charge left in the batteries to get me home again so had to use a commercial charger.

Forgot my golf shoes once so I just played in the trainers I was wearing. They were a kind of suede like material and got completely ruined. Had to buy a new pair after that. So that round cost me about £30.
