which format?

4 of us are travelling to Shropshire to play 27 holes tomorrow (3 loops of 9), any suggestions on game format?

I was thinking straight stableford with each player having a yellow bonus ball, the bonus ball could be used once on each loop unless it is lost, each time it's used double points are awarded.

The plan is to divide the handicap by 3 to give an allowance per loop


Any other ideas that are simple to use

sounds ideal, dont get overcomplicated or people forget what format is what 9 or round etc etc

keep it simple, I like the bonus ball though

Play 4 ball better ball but swap partners on each 9 so that everyone pairs up with everyone else for one of the 9s
