Which are the UK's best public golf courses?

Tapton Park Chesterfield is a tough layout with some great views. Quite some years since I last played there so no idea what condition is like. Wasn't too brilliant last time out - but that was maybe 20yrs ago! When condition is good I do like this track.

Apart from the famous Scottish ones already mentioned, the best municipal courses I've played are Southampton and Meyrick Park in Bournemouth.

And don't tell Blundell but the Grove is OK for a muni too ;)

Played Panshanger (WGC) yet again on Saturday.

Would rate this very highly! And (distant) memories of Heaton Park and Walton Hall were pretty good too!

You definitely need to travel down to Lydd and play there ......

One of my favs is panshanger

Played there few weeks ago for free using the old loyalty card

30 miles from me but it's a good meet point for me and my mate from Barnet and the other from WGC

Easy journeys for all and a lovely course
